I do that to when I get the chance. I wasn't a big fan of audiobooks until I started listening to them on my commute. Sometimes it is easier than carrying a book or my Kindle. Now I always have an audio book on the phone.

@Claire, I really liked Snow, Katy and the Big Snow and Winter is the Warmest Season so far.
I have a few more to read tonight, including Squirrels on skis which should be funny (at least I hope so).

I have to help select a few winter children's books for a seasonal party. I'll make sure to keep a list of what I read and post it here. It's a 3 day process and we have to read every book put in for consideration so I hope to add quite a few points.

189072 This was required reading in high school. Thought it was awful then but really could not appreciate it, too busy worrying about the hot nail polish color that was important to me at 16.

As an adult, it is terrifying. The same situation exists in all governments today.
Just remember: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
189072 I second The Princess Bride

189072 I agree that a re-read should count.

I like the that graphic novels and children's book count. I am glad to be able to add the .5 points for the books I read to kids and with adults. I believe that Reading to kids is important and do so every chance I get. I have always done so, even last year when they didn't count for points. I also read children's books with the adult literacy program that I volunteer for. They are very helpful and also work quite well to put someone at ease.

Not everyone has the same reading opportunities, abilities or capacities and may only be able to appreciate children's books. Their reading should count.

Last year I was unhappy in the scoring. If people signed up for a team, they counted as a person for the entire competition, regardless of participation. People read 1 book and they affected the score throughout. It was re-worked this year. The moderators have done a great job with the Hogwarts House Cup Challenge. This opportunity to comment is also a great idea.

Bottom line: This should be a fun competition celebrating all books, levels of reading and types of reading. It is meant to be a fun challenge and not a cut-throat battle.
