I just finished this book. I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to; it was interesting to think about how influential HG Wells' ideas have been on science fiction since he wrote this.

I’m a freelance writer and performance artist based in small town Iowa. I’ve had a bunch of deadlines, so I haven’t posted my reading yet, but I have actually finished some books this month 🎉

I'm a single parent with an adult child--my son just graduated from college with a BFA in digital and animation. I'm very proud.

I love how Austen is making fun of the Gothic romance with this book, while still writing a great gothic sort of story. Henry is one of my favorite Austen heroes; his defense of novels is epic!

I ended up DNFing this pretty early on, I just couldn’t connect with Addie. The writing is beautiful tho.
