185 No worries. It's a bit overwhelming for newbies, I know. Happy to help, and glad you found your book!
185 Possibly: Hunted

"Callum Scott sees ghosts, all the time, everywhere. It’s not because he lives in a creepy tiny cottage near a graveyard and the abandoned ruins of a church—it’s because he is a “chime child,” born on a full moon between midnight Friday and dawn Saturday. He doesn’t talk about it with anyone; his mother is dead, his father is absent, and his grandmother would never believe it. But when a huge, particularly evil-looking black dog and a pale boy dripping blood start following him, he is unnerved. And well he should be, as the barrier between the human world and the demon realm is disintegrating like it does every hundred years, and only the chime children can keep humanity safe."
185 Possibly: The Monster's Ring

185 Laurie - I don't remember a lot of details, and I'm not sure if any of what I remember is spoilery or not but I'll hide it anyway (view spoiler) It's a grim, gritty read. People seem to either love or hate it.

185 I think this is Breaking Rank

"For 12 years, the black-clad members of "the Clan" have slunk through school, driving teachers crazy by calmly refusing to work or to speak to anyone. But one day Thomas, aka "Baby " to his Clan fellows, clandestinely takes a placement test and is identified as gifted. Over her parents' objections, Casey, a good student friendly with the jock/cheerleader set, responds to the guidance counselor's request for her help and becomes Baby's after-school tutor."
185 There is often crossover between MG and YA so I made a suggestion. Good luck finding your book.
