Bruce Coville's Book of Nightmares II: More Tales to Make You Scream has a short story called "Snow" that is about some kids who wish that it would snow forever. Ring any bells?

Was the main character an adult or a teen? It's rather unusual for a YA book to have an adult protagonist.

Maybe Maiden Bride (Harlequin Historical, #332)? The heroine is Gillian and she was in a convent before being given in marriage to a brutish Lord.

Sounds like the Marmawell trilogy by Martine Leavitt. The first one is Dragon's Tapestry

I believe they were originally published under her maiden name, Martine Bates.

This is from 2008, so probably too late, but also a murder mystery involving the discovery of a bog body: Sacrifice by SJ Bolton.

eh, maybe Shades Of Fortune? Sounds like it's more a cosmetics empire than a publishing one, but worth a shot:
