185 Hmmm, I don't know this one, but here are a few titles that come up under "subject: circus - fiction" that were published as e-books between 2009-2011:

Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti

Flesh Circus

Circus Galacticus

The Greatest Love on Earth
185 ::waves at CLM:: You were one of the people I was going to ask! I thought you might be up for a bit of sleuthing. :)
185 I'm off work today, so I can't follow up with our ILL dept, either, but I'll talk to them tomorrow, too. I have friends in Boston, too, so if need be I can send one on a mission! Dadgum it, I want to solve this mystery!
185 Feliks - do you remember when you read it?

Cheryl - hahahaha, great choice of a substitute book until we can solve this mystery!
185 aw, I'm just happy to help!
185 Which library in Boston has it? Maybe we can find a sympathetic librarian there who will skim through the book and let us know if it's the right one!
185 Sounds a little like The Accident, but I think the girl in the mirror is the girl's grandmother or other relative, so maybe not.
185 I just wish we could find more information about it. Too bad the bookseller wont read it and give you a decent summary before you decide to buy :)

I'll poke around a bit more, see if I can dig up anything. Doubtful, but I'll try.
185 Bad news, y'all. My interlibrary loan request was denied. There aren't any copies of that book to be found in any of the participating library systems. Sorry!

185 When the Swan's Neck Breaks - for the link.

185 Class Trip for the link. :)
185 Kris, I will see if I can get a copy through inter-library loan at work. That way we can verify the plot, at least.
185 Ok, this is a super long shot, especially since I can't find any plot summaries for this book, but perhaps The Old Monk's House Mystery. Since the rose rent thing seems to be historically associated with monasteries, maybe??

185 Woo-hoo! Thanks, Cheryl. :)
185 Here's a link to The Forbidden Game - the new edition that publishes the entire series in one volume.

The Dark Visions series has also been recently republished in one volume, if anyone's interested. :)
185 Dang! This one has me flummoxed. I'll keep my eyes open for anything else that might fit. Have you mentioned when you read the book or when it may have been published?
185 Sounds like The Great Brain series.
185 Kris, I just want to tell you that your "bumps" are so hilarious, they have made this thread and your request very memorable...so I am always keeping an eye out for a book that meets this description!
185 Kitten, the one you're thinking of is: Salvaged Pages: Young Writers' Diaries of the Holocaust
