185 oh well, hopefully it will turn up. Fatima, I believe you have posted this same query twice. Please delete the other thread - it will get confusing for everyone if you start getting comments on both.
185 Sounds like Guilt by Association, which has been searched for here several times before!

185 Star Circus has subject headings for Circus and Science Fiction, with a 1977 pub date, and a tightrope walker on the cover. The GR record doesn't have much of a summary, but here's a Kirkus review that goes into more detail: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-re...
185 Sounds like The Thief of Always
185 Lexi - how long ago did you read this? Is it adult or YA?
185 I think this is Turn Me On.

On the Google books page for this title, the following sentence: "Paul started to reach out to touch her, comfort her, but she hissed, 'Shine me on!' For the first time in their lives, the boys were embarrassed by these words"

185 Yay! Happy to help. The way you described the cover totally triggered my memory!
185 I think this is Green Thumb Green Thumb by Rob Thomas
185 I believe this is Asylum for Nightface
185 Yay, I'm glad you found your book, Kayla! I'm going to move this thread to solved and shelve the book. However, this is not a YA book, so I'm shelving it as adult.
185 The Halfmen of O for the link to Meg's suggestion
185 Possibly: Little Did I Know ?

"Set in Plymouth, MA in the late seventies, Little Did I Know is the tale of a young man with an outsized dream -- to refurbish a dilapidated but historic theater and produce a season's worth of vibrant musicals. A recent college graduate, he fills his cast and crew with people he has come to love and trust in his university life, and with others whose talents and personalities prove undeniable."
185 Choker for the link. I'll move this to solved and update our shelves. :)

I also edited this thread's title to remove the spoiler.
185 Throwing this out there because there's a young rural teacher named Susan and the cover seems to match your description Susan Cornish Susan Cornish by Rebecca Caudill but I have no idea if there are any Danish teaching methods described therein.
185 This reminds me of Strange But True by John Searles, but some of the details are off.
185 This sounds like Breathe My Name by R.A. Nelson. (Sorry, on mobile, can't link)
