Count me in either, I don't want to miss the fun.
I'm so happy that Chelsea Manning's sentence is being commuted. I participated in the W4R marathon and wrote a hand-written letter to President Obama. It's good to see I could help a little bit.

Exactly!

I can only second Ana and Meelie here. Learning about it from you would be really much appreciated by myself.

Exactly THIS!
Maybe you are privileged enough to not be discriminated against, but I doubt that.
Broader question: Why are there self-help and activism groups? Because the oppressed and misunderstood people want to have a community, a community in which they aren't discriminated and oppressed.

Yes, let's not forget the flight attendants. It's their job so they are definitely on a higher risk.

Definitely going to read this on commute too, nobody has mentioned this before. I didn't know that about the DSM, I know more about the ICD 10, but not much either.

Indigo, good Indigo, I haven't read of you lately, what a delight to read from you again.
Your lengthy comment definitely made me even more aware of the struggles and difficulties trans* people have to face. And thanks for also including intersex* persons as well, because "female" doesn't equal "women".

OMG, how anti-feminist is this, please? They definitely don't know what feminism is about.
Thanks for counter-checking tho, Alison.

We're definitely on the same track. You spoke my mind.

Some fun indeed:)

I mean, they don't have to use them, but even that they exist is showing how wrong this world is, I guess.

Wider? "Women are supposed to be bad at driving, let's make it easier for them!" Grrr. I find that very disrespectful of women!

You're not the only one who thinks it's problematic. It doesn't solve the problem - I see an analogy to being passive-aggressive here: Not being bad to women on the forefront, but bad in the backyard because it backs up rape culture and misogyny.
I know why I always go by public transport - there's no such thing in busses, only for people who really need it (elderly people, seeing impaired and people with special needs). But in trains there are "women only" cabins, as well as "breastfeeding cabins". I don't know, I don't think they are the solution to the problem.

It did become a public affair! And I fear that this won't change anytime soon, since business interests are at play - those horrible Veet advertisements (in France we ha..."
I'm just not up to date when it comes to girl's stuff like this. So, can't tell you anything about it other than that it is really disturbing me how much society wants to control females with ads like these.

Exactly my thoughts. In Austria they're not pink, but still not very feminist I think, when you consider that they are normally closer to the door (I don't have a problem with parking spaces for the bodily disadvantaged, and that their parking spaces are closer to the door, but with men and women I don't see a reason for putting the parking spaces closer to the door)

Thanks for posting, Haydee:) Always useful, especially for us!

Sorry, but I can't help you since I don't know anything about Mattapoisett.
I am curious about the other's responses tho.

Let's be glad that it isn't considered a mental illness anymore. It's proof that we can also change the attitude towards other "illnesses."

I think there are also some in Austria (I don't drive, so don't know for sure). I don't think that this is the solution to the problem tho.
