Object: Read a book that is somehow connected to each of the designs in the Bingo board. What you consider a "win" is up to you. If you want to take on a big challenge then go for a full card. If that's a bit much for you, then go for some of the other Bingo patterns: 4 down/across, 4 corners, postage stamp, etc.
How can my book connect to the image? The connection can be anything that you can reasonably explain. That means you can connect colors on your cover, words in the title, or content/theme of the design. See the first comment for some examples. Be creative!
What about pages? For every 200 pages read, you earn the ability to count a book for two squares

Realistically, slow these days. A little boost to my typical 'medium' would be nice though!

A book that fits the #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign
"Marley Dias' book drive focuses specifically on books in which black girls are the main characters, not minor or background characters."

I may have gone a bit over board but I couldn't bring myself to leave after getting only the book I came for. I left with:
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel
The Secret Place by Tana French
Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel
Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

I’m nearing the end of You Are Not Alone and then I have a few checked out from the library.
The Fountains of Silence
American Dirt
If It Bleeds
I have very mixed feelings about reading American Dirt but in the end I would like to form my own opinions after reading it. I may just follow it up with an ‘own voices’ book on the topic.

😂😂😂😂😂

That could be set in location that is often neglected, by a POC or LGBTQIA author, a genre you don't usually read, etc.

It’s been exciting seeing South America fill in a bit because of this year’s prompt.
Right now, Africa, particularly central Africa continues to be very underrepresented. There’s also a list of countries in the thread that haven’t been read in the past two years (those that are italicized)
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Opens it up to include different socioeconomic status, birthplace, or ethnicity but also topics.

The goal of locking the threads has been to avoid splitting of the discussion into a bunch of different locations. That was happening particularly at the start of the new month when some people were putting a reflection in the previous month while others were putting it in the current one.

New locations this time:
Central African Republic
Malawi
Yemen
Guatemala
Hong Kong
Tanzania
Oman
Republic of Georgia

Thanks for letting me know!

The voting process will start with a pre-poll, posted on June 25. This year we are trying to follow a predictable schedule. More info here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Hi there :)
As with the previous years, we will be working as a group to create the challenge for 2021. If you're anything like me, you're just about ready for 2020 to be over already. So if we can't make time move any faster then we can at least look ahead a little.
We have to decide the categories, so we'll use suggestions and polls to formulate a list that is entirely member-created.
We don't want to spam all the members for each step, so if you're interested in doing suggestions, voting or following what's happening, you just have to subscribe to this topic (check "Notify me when people comment" at the bottom [PS: you can't subscribe from the app]).
We'll update when:
- a new topic is opened for suggestions
- a new poll is online
At the end of each poll, I'll add the winners in this first post. The suggestions that lost will be listed in a separate topic that will go live after the voting process starts.

New locations this time:
Central African Republic
Malawi
Yemen
Guatemala
Hong Kong
Tanzania
Oman
Republic of Georgia
Qatar

If people would find it useful, I can reserve this comment for people's ideas. That would allow them to be commented on ahead of the voting and saved for later :)
This has been suggested before but, A book recommended by an author
There's a fun summer article with recommendations: https://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/1836

I'm so very jealous that you've read that many books while isolation!
Major props!
