Chapter 30 - Epilogue
Shannon, you were right. I liked reading about Isaiah’s story and I’m glad that they got to know each other without the marriage playing a big role in all their interactions.
(view spoiler)[ I liked how the book ended. Even though there was a moment where I was worried, I liked how they ended up talking about their options. Also, I liked how sure Kennedy was of her decision and that Dr Fredrick was fired.
While I still liked seeing the characters, it felt like they appeared less in this book. There aren’t that many family dinners (at Ryan’s house), or interactions with teammates (especially considering both of the MCs had to constantly be in contact with them). Dean definitely needed to be shown more too - he tries to get into a fight with Isaiah on the field, Kennedy’s family dinner where he spoke maybe 5 times, short phone call with Kennedy, apology to Isaiah, and then when he appears at their wedding. His conversation about Isaiah with Kennedy isn’t even shown!
I was really excited for Rio’s book, but now I’m worried that my expectations are too high, especially if the side characters aren’t going to be shown much. I’m still going to read it and hope for the best.

Chapters 20 - 29
(view spoiler)[ Are they going to break up? I think Reese hinted that she knows that Dr Fredrick is against women working with the athletes so is she going to fire him and give the job to Kennedy?
I feel like there’s been less interactions with others in this book. I really wanted the confrontation with Dean since he and Isaiah hate each other and yet Dean’s important to Kennedy so I wanted to see how their relationship would change. It might still happen, but is there enough time?

Chapters 10 - 19
(view spoiler)[ Is there going to be something between Monty and Reese?
I like how Kennedy asked Isaiah to help her get used to touching, but that moment on the plane when he thought Kennedy just wanted to hold his hand and then he saw that it was because Reese was there was horrible.
Neither Isaiah nor Dean have told Kennedy about their conflict yet and I’m curious if Dean just started being mean because he was jealous or if there was an imagined slight.
There’s been one situation with Kennedy awful family and I kind of want to see more because it feels like that will be the only chance to see Dean interact with them.

Prologue - Chapter 9
(view spoiler)[ The beginning has been written well and it’s showing enough but not too much of how the Vegas wedding happened.
I’m hoping Dr Fredrick gets fired, but that’s probably going to happen near the end.
I can’t wait to see Isaiah and Kennedy be forced to interact and get to know each other. Also, I really want to see Dean’s part - how he and Isaiah are going to interact, his relationship with Kennedy, and Kennedy finding out about how he treated Isaiah.
I’m curious about Kennedy’s family too and how she’s going to stop paying as much attention to their opinions/standards.
Since Kennedy is hoping to get a job in California, I’m really hoping there isn’t going to be a third act breakup where she goes there and only then do both of them realise that they want to be together.

Chapters 25 - 32
(view spoiler)[ So what is the prophecy? Why are the Gods so concerned about Cat when it doesn't seem like they exist for other people? How did Cat (Talia?) start living with Alpha Fisa?
The over the top reactions from Cat as well as her oversharing at the beginning ruined everything else in the book for me and I'm not going to be continuing with the series. I am curious about Cat's past and while her abilities make things too easy, I didn't mind reading about them. However, I don't really care about the prophecy or what I'm assuming is going to be a war to take over all the other kingdoms.

Chapters 17 - 24
(view spoiler)[ While I guess it makes sense that every situation is kind of simple for Cat because of the protection of the Gods, it also makes the story less enjoyable for me because there’s no real attempt at doing something and struggling to come up with a solution. Also, the situation with the Gods needs to be explained more because it feels very easy and random that they’re listening to Cat.
If this was about any other MC, I really would have liked how Cat tried to get the healer to heal Griffin, but when she refused, she took matters into her own hands.

Chapters 9 - 16
(view spoiler)[ Along with Cat’s out of control behaviour, Griffin’s confusion about why Cat (who he kidnapped/forced to leave) doesn’t want to be part of the team is annoying.
Their attraction to each other comes out of nowhere and it doesn’t help that they are ‘enemies’.
The promise Cat made Griffin about never trying to escape was too easy. She didn’t even try to change his mind and instead was happy to agree.
Is Cat Lukia?
In a different book, with different MCs, I think I would have liked Griffin’s family but once again Cat makes a big deal out of keeping her abilities a secret and yet shows them off at the first opportunity.

Chapters 1 - 8
(view spoiler)[ This isn’t going to be for me. The story so far isn’t bad and it might get more interesting, but I hate the accidental blurting stuff out or revealing things and then wondering why did she do it.
The characters aren’t bad either but the blurting out crucial information skips relationship development opportunities and I find it incredibly annoying.
I’m probably going to finish this book, but I’m not sure about the series.

Chapters 27 - 34
(view spoiler)[ I still wasn’t sure what to think of this series until the situation with the whorehouse. I didn’t like it. Of course Story goes alone to confront Daniel - what did she think would happen? Maybe it’s just because we haven’t really been shown how dangerous he is, but I didn’t think that it was an impossible situation to get out of and the fact that Rath came and they went through with it felt lazy and like it was just something they did to have the experience.
I wonder who the other Ted is - the Princes? Story’s mother? Saul?
I like how the title fits the story and while I don’t know if I’ll continue, I’m curious who the next books are going to be about. Bianca? The next generation of Lords, although that doesn’t seem likely.
