That did bother me a bit. (view spoiler)[ While I was reading the book, I kind of assumed that Rory repeating that she liked doing bad things meant that she was going to do something at the end, but she didn't even end up killing Alberto.

I prefer books with lots of scenes with the side characters so there just wasn't enough of Rafe in this book for me to care about his story. I might have tried Gabe's books but they're not out yet.

Chapters 29 - 38

(view spoiler)[ I liked the scenes where Angelo and Rory were doing bad things, but they were always cut short, like when Angelo finds the boy that poisoned Angelo’s mother.

Also, while I thought I could like the side characters, they weren’t shown enough for me, especially for Rory to get to know Angelo’s brothers and her reuniting with her friends.

I thought that what was shown was written well, but I wanted more. The plot was fine, but I would have wanted more time at the end for Angelo and Rory to live together and interact with their family and friends. While there wasn’t much about the mafia side of things, it made sense since Angelo left that world behind and you could still see that he was dangerous.

I’m not sure about continuing the series. I don’t really care about Rafe and his story is two books so if I do end up reading more in this series, it’s going to be Gabe’s story.

Edit: I just realised Gabe's story is also two books and they're not even out yet so I'm probably not going to continue.

Chapters 20 - 28

Since Angelo still hasn’t fully committed, I don’t think there’s going to be enough time for everything I want to see - dealing with Alberto, what Angelo and Rory’s lives will look like, Rory’s secret, Angelo finding the boy, and more scenes with the side characters, especially with Rory getting to know them.

I think Tor would be on Angelo’s side, but I’m curious if Dante is also going to be killed.

Chapters 11 - 19

(view spoiler)[ I’m still liking the book, but I really want Alberto to be taken out of the equation so that there’s enough time to show Rory and Angelo. Also, I want to see more of the other characters who seem fun. What could Gabe’s job be and what happened to him that he doesn’t even tell his brothers?

I liked the scene where the brothers were dealing with the sinner, but that was very brief so I don’t expect to see more detailed scenes showing the killing.

Is Rory planning to kill Alberto? Otherwise what could the sin be?

What’s the secret with Angelo’s father? Was he a trafficker?

Prologue - Chapter 10

(view spoiler)[ I'm really liking this book so far. Even though Angelo hasn't been involved in the mafia for nearly a decade and he isn't the capo, it's clear that he can take the title at any moment. This aspect makes the forbidden nature of Angelo and Rory's relationship more fun to read.

Is Rory's father ill and the only way she could get money was to offer herself to Alberto? Or did he have a debt that Rory negotiated for?

Something obviously happened in the past at her school and I'm really hoping that Angelo will find the guy/s when he finds out. Unless the confession Rory is worried about is that she killed the guy.

I'm curious how long it's going to take for Rory to stop being tied to Alberto. Will Angelo take back the capo position and, with it, Rory?

I really hope Angelo's brothers are shown more. Also, I'm wondering if Donatello and Amelia have a book. They seem fun and I'm hoping they also appear more often.

Chapters 8 - 14

(view spoiler)[ I’m kind of bored. It doesn’t feel like anything is happening.

I understand that the first few lessons Emmy had with Luke might have shown slow progress, but that was when their relationship and interactions were changing and they were getting to know each other but it was skipped.

The side characters appear sometimes, only to show that they still exist but I want more from their interactions with Emmy and Luke.

I was going to at least finish Story's books, but after only reading a few pages of the next book, I think I'm going to DNF. I just don't care and I find the characters' hopelessness to be annoying because I don't think the power of the others has been shown well so I don't see why they aren't just doing something.

Chapters 1 - 7

(view spoiler)[ So far, this has been fine, but I don't understand yet why it seemed to be so popular for a while. I'm not sure how long this is going to be dragged on for, but I really don't like the superficial hate/enemies situation that happens in books, including this one. Emmy doesn't like Luke at all (but why?), and yet she finds him so attractive and there was already an almost kiss scene. Now she's conflicted because she has a crush on him, but how can that happen when she 'hates' him?

I'm interested in seeing more about her accident, and her ex is also probably going to show up. I'm hoping the usual reaction to the brother finding out isn't going to happen, but that seems to be the most common reaction.

Chapters 13 - 15

(view spoiler)[ While this series is still entertaining and quick enough to continue, I’ve lost hope that it’s going to get better. There were at least three scenes where something happened or an important conversation was starting and then the chapter ends, the scene is cut off and it’s a while later with Cooper thinking back on the scene.

I like that this series is following Park and Cooper and showing how their relationship is developing and how they deal with different situations. I definitely want to find more series like that, especially if they include more of the side characters and don’t have the same problem with cut off scenes.

I wasn’t expecting the reveals at the end, but then again I was focused more on the annoying way things would be cut off, or Cooper and Park wouldn’t communicate properly.

Even though there’s been action, I don’t think the plot has moved at all. Also, I really don’t like that Park’s family and Park and Cooper’s relationship aren’t being focused on more.

I’m curious about Raymond and the woman, but I’m losing hope that anything is going to happen. Is this going to be stretched out into the remaining books in the series?

(view spoiler)[ Nothing has been mentioned about Cooper’s family - their reactions to Park, werewolves and Cooper’s job, or their relationship with Cooper.

I don’t like how Park was taking Cooper to his family and yet hasn’t filled him in on anything. Now he’s apologised but it still doesn’t seem like he’s going to share more.

I’m glad that there was finally an actual wolf shown, but is it going to continue? I’m curious who the wolf at the beginning was (part of the other pack?) and I’m assuming something’s going to happen with the wolf hunters/researchers which Park and Cooper are going to investigate.
