okay, so by the end of next week, a complete list of bookstores should be available at the website, as well as the ability to make direct online sales . . .
. . . ubiquity is distributing it mostly through indie bookstores . . . their working on direct internet sales, but the university is dragging their feet . . . hopefully they'll have it set up soon . . .
. . . i've been a little tied up the last couple weeks, but i just want everybody to know that i'm stoked for the dork, and can't wait to see you guys, and can't wait for you to see how beautiful fort flaggler is . . .it is one of my favorite places, and will be extra special with you guys (and gals) . . . also, i'm itching to get that giraffe shirt on and let my wedding tackle air out a little bit . . .
. . . i've been forced to read nothing but galleys and manuscripts the last month, in spite of the fact that prescription for love is just ACHING to be picked up, not to mention wittgenstein's mistress . . . right now i'm reading a collection of excellent stories by gina frangello called slut lullabies (not crazy about the title) . . . the stories, however, dazzle and surprise . . . frangello takes risks (with voice, POV, subject matter) and i love that . . .

FYI. Happy Birthday to me this week; just moved up to the 54th floor. View is great. Also bough..."
. . .holy crap, pops, happy 54!!! . . . and good on you for going green!

I was just to upset/depressed by it and really had to consider w...". . .yeah, the road is mccarthy at his most hopeful, for sure . . . it haunted me for a few weeks, and i always think that's a good thing, even if it's uncomfortable . . . how many books have tha kind of power?
. . . yeah, pops, for sure not universal . . . i never forget the reader . . .i've always got an idea of the effect i'm working to create, the emotional discomfort i'm looking to stir up, the funny bone i'm looking to tickle . . . really, when i strip away everything else, the reader is the starting point . . . the reader-- and i suppose this goes without saying, is mostly me, my own aesthetic, the places i want to be touched, the characters i want to inhabit, the things i want to laugh at, the truths i want to grope for . . . and i know how to get there, or i've got a pretty good idea, or i have no idea whatsoever but i'll kill myself trying . . . all for the reader . . .
. . no doubt, pops, i was almost two years in before i really felt like i had the reigns . . . readings from you and hugh and shel and marge were invaluable . . . they say hard writing makes easy reading, and i hope that's true . . .because WOH was quite a chore . . .
. . . i dug snow angels . . .sam rockwell rocks me . . .to be honest with you, i'd like to see it be the kinda movie that breaks a few as of yet known actors, who then become typecast for the rest of their careers because they owned their roles in lulu so well! . . . like bud court in harold and maude!
. . . but the question remains: can picard render elenor rigby to great effect? what can data do with a lyric about bilbo baggins?
Shel wrote: "Dude, Zooey Deschanel has to be Lulu. Or Chloe Sevigny.
Robert Downey Jr has to be the grown up Will. Wait, he may be too old.
OK, lemme stop."
. . . funny, lot's of people have said zooey . . .but she doesn't play under 25 any more . . . one name that's been mentioned as a possibility for lulu is kat denning . . .i think laura linney would be a great willow . . .maybe robert downey jr. would want to load up on steroids and play big bill!
. . . dude, i will so lobby on your behalf for that part . . . wash that pizza down with a milkshake . . .
. . .thanks ker-bear . . . i'm really grateful that the pieces are fitting together at last . . . now, let's see if i can keep them in place!
. . .thanks mo . . . just in time for the baby!!! . . . i was sweatin' the idea of feeding my boy . . . this ends the longest winter of my life! . . . put it this way: my agent sent me a box of food for christmas!
