. . . i'm still getting kinda' caught up on the environment . . . i've been around reading posts trying to catch up . . .
. . .all i know is, since all you fictionphiles joined goodreads, lulu's rating has plummeted from a 4.10 to 3.94 . . . so much for nepotism!
. . . so, we're missing some RSVP's down on the event page . . .if you haven't done it yet, stand up and be counted on the event list!
. . . so my perscription for love is on the way? can't wait-- in fact, i think i'm going to cover it for three guys, one book!
July 28-30th at Fort Flaggler. Gonna' be bigger and better than ever! And can i just say how excited I am for my little dude to meet his wonderful aunts and uncles from all over! . . . i'll fill in more deatials this weekend when i have time . . . we've got 30 beds, and there's camping for overflow, and the whole thing is going to be even cheaper than last year! . . . if anybody comes in early they can stay at our place . . . in the meantime, let's get an RSVP list going here:
Brian wrote: "amazon sent me an email this morning telling me to buy this book. i think i'll just wait for eddie vedder to give me a copy.". . . double ha! . . .it's ed, though, not eddie, he doesn't like eddie . . .

. . .would you quit being a weenie, benji, and give your adoring public what they want?
. . .oh yeah, and one more soon to be added to my pile which i won't tell you anything about until i have time:james p. othmer - holy water!
. . . not sure of the pub date yet, but needless to say, i can't wait for this one . . .
Ben wrote: "you're not going to tell us a little about these books? cuz i can't say you're gettin' me excited... ". . . well, as soon as i'm done with the 550 page rewrite i'm supposed to finish by next week, i promise i'll elucidate . . . how's this: one of the three is thicker than the others!

. . . so, it's sort of an occupational prerequisite for me these days to read mostly new fiction, a lot of it in the form of galleys . . . traditionally, we read more dead authors around here, but i thought i'd start a thread which deals specifically with current fiction releases of note, since we are in the culture-building business around here . . .currently in queue and soon to be released, are two indie titles and one big house offering:
peter selgin - life goes to the movies (dzanc, spring 09)
jim lynch - border songs (knopf, june 09)
michael muhammad kinght - osama van halen (soft skull, spring 09)

Dan wrote: "hi, I am dan. I have been around the block with some of these other group members for a long time...". . .well, we know you've been around the block with alan-- or he wouldn't be using your profile picture!
. . .i'm jonathan . . . i like rabbits . . . but not as much as i like the people in this group . . . i blog here with a few of my friends, as of today:http://threeguysonebook.blogspot.com/
