. . . i'm late to the party, as well, lara! this is happening a lot with me lately! damn! . . . hope you had a lovely b-day!
. . . sorry you haven't got your copies yet neil . . . i've alerted the "staff" which means i'll probably have to alert them three or four more times, but you'll get them . . .
. . . i saw it at eagle harbor and elliot bay, so it must be available . . . what you've gotta' realize is that students are doing most of the administrative work, so getting accurate information is tough . . . my model called for a launch with immediate online sales and a brick-and-mortar rollout . . . but alas, my hands are tied at every juncture . . .
. . . the university is still dragging their feet on the online thing . . .on the upside, here's a list of bookstores where knock is now available:http://www.knockmagazine.com/subscrib...
. . . i've always loved fynn's title! . . . i don't think eddie's bastard will ever grow on me . . .unless joan jett records it . . .
. . . i stumbled across a writer named william kowalski who is said to really like dickens, so i was curious . . . also, i think we used to be at the same agency (although i'm pretty sure my rep was sleeping nights in the office, and he couldn't spell to save his life) . . . but the title of kowalski's debut was so bad that i just couldn't buy it . . . the name of the book is: "eddie's bastard" . . . lordy, what an awful title . . . couldn't somebody, somewhere along the long line toward publication have put the brakes on that one? eddie's bastard?!? it sounds like a joan jett song! . . . or is it just me?
. . . i'm about a third of the way through mr. othmer's forthcoming novel, holy water, and am peeing my pants laughing!
. . .i'm stoked to get to flaggler . . .since the bridge has been closed all spring, we haven't been out there yet this year . . .i'm jonesin' . . .bridge opens again in a week, so maybe i'll get a chance before the dork to go peek into the windows of our digs . . .
. . . i just remember chewbacca was the best man . . . now, there's a story i wanna write! chewie gets shit-housed at the reception and takes a dump on the wedding cake . . .
no shit . . . this reminds me of third grade, when my school sent me to "the young authors conference" at seattle u, where third grade writers from all over were brought together to read their stories . . . i remember feeling pissed and cheated when one girl's story was about the marraige of luke skywalker and princess leigha (sp?) . . . weak . . .
oh man, does this mean the hug store is going to be slow this year? . . . i'm guessing not-- i'll just have to dole out a few extras for everybody else . . .
. . .okay, i'm totally sold, shel, thanks for the excellent breakdown . . . i always loved that actor from newhart, the dude was hilarious . . . it's the guy that was always a downer at the group therapy sessions, right? the guy that has sort of a charles grodin vibe?
. . . my motto is: we're the jews of cyberspace . . . we wander the virtual earth bringing our wares with us . . .
. . . authors need to get down out of their ivory towers and interact with their readers more like this fire ants author . . . i almost always comment to bloggers who cover my book-- especially if the coverage is good . . .but even if it isn't, i thank them for covering it . . . and i enthusiastically answer every single reader e-mail i get . . . where would we without readers? . . .especially readers of the caliber in this community . . .
Adrian wrote: "Chris wrote: "And his names--Esther Summerson ..."No one ever agrees with me, but I think Esther is a passive-aggressive vampire who attempts to drain the life out of this novel. And I think it w..."
. . . this trumptetin about how meek and humble she is is reminiscent of uriah heap, no?
. . . i'm 50 pages into jimbo's next book-- holy water! hilarious stuff! . . .an excerpt appears in knock (otherwise known as the fiction files yearbook) . . .
