Cassie was only 12 years old. Yup love interest didn't work. Too young! The actress looks so much older than 12. I didn't read the host but I do own the book.

Just finished it and I too am undecided on what to rate it. I didn't like the entire book. I loved the Cassie parts and I liked Sam parts but the rest not so much. I listened to it on audio and every time it went to a guy talking I would zone out. I know not very good.

I just watched the trailer for the movie and I feel like I didn't even read the book. Like they should the different waves. I didn't imagine that when I was reading the book.

Another thing Cassie is 12 years old in the book. They say it a couple of times. In the movie she looks so much older.

Also in the book I don't remember her mom at all and in the movie they show her in the beginning?

I probably will like the movie more than the book just based on the trailer.

I'm on chapter 57. Slowly catching up. I go in and out with liking the book. It's like I like some characters and don't like others. I like the little kid. I like the girl part but the other parts I could live without. ha ha. Yup it's always like that when I read books with different POVs.

I'm on chapter 42. Haven't gotten to the laughing part. Still feel scared for the kids. Seems to me more like a concentration camp.

It's getting really good. Yup I thought of a few books as well. I've never read the host. But I keep thinking about WW2 when they put the people on trains but this time they put the kids on buses. Wow they are tagging all the kids. Wonder what will happen to sammy. Will his sister find him? I'm definitely going to see the movie.

I'm a bit behind. Luckily scribd has this book on audio. Using my credit to catch up.

Felt so bad when they took the brother on the school bus

Sad that her mom died but at least her dad and brother are still alive. I have one more chapter to read but have to food shop.

Wow did anyone stop and think when he mentioned that there were more birds than humans? I had some bird problems this week my car they did a big poop feast. Creepy how I thought of that when the birds in the book are transporting disease.

Will read more later today.

I'm only on page 38 but I too was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe that guy was going to be another character guess I was wrong. Will read more tonight.
