And also, I just recently had a family member move to Germany (literally like a week or two ago).

Awkward.
Finally, I straightened up and looked over at him. "Er, I probably should go on home and - uh - change..." I turned and began walking stiffly back, my feet beginning to hurt. After a few steps, I glanced behind me, and saw Nerd boy still standing, looking mournful in the same position.
"Um...would you - would you like to come with? We have, er, food..." I felt ridiculous, but after only a moment he leaped up, grabbed his scooter, and ran after me, chattering excitedly.
"I can't believe we live in the same neighborhood - even the same road! Which house is yours? Mine is a bit farther on, but not far! What's the number, do you know?"
My head was already beginning to hurt, and I was regretting inviting him home. But a promise was a promise, and I endured his chatter with one thing in mind: It soon was going to be over.
"We don't live in a...house." I answered softly, wincing at my headache.
"Y-you don't? Then what do you live in? You don't live on the streets, do you?"
Nerd looked horrified, and I hurriedly jumped upon the momentary silence.
"Uh, no, no we - my dad and I - live in an apartment building..." I supplied.
"Ohhh, well why didn't you say so in the first place!" he beamed, running to catch up.

Thx! To tell you the truth, I really only chose it because I wanted to pick one with a name from another country, and now it has kinda grown on me XD

After a little while, I looked up and put my hands in my pockets, taking in the huge trees, giving shade to small houses, and pebbles skittering across the road in the wind.
What would happen if Dad gets the job? Were we gonna stay in Berlin for good? Was he serious about the new state? We'd only been here for three weeks, nearly a month but... I thought we were comfortable in Florida. I thought everything was going great there. I thought we were happy-
Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted with a crash as something big and fast bowled into my stomach, sending me sprawling.
"Ahh! What the-?" I shook my head and looked around, flat on my back on the side of the road.
"Oh, god, I'm so sorry! Are you all right! Sorry, sorry!"
My eyes focused with some difficulty on a scrawny boy quickly hopping up from the ground across from me, a red scooter lying nearby, wheels still spinning wildly.
"Nerd?" I mumbled, struggling to stand as well.
"Um, hi - small world, eh?" Nerd replied, laughing nervously and dusting his pants off.
I eyed him warily and only gave a grunt of answer. I didn't really care. Now the backside of my pants were dirty, and my beautiful sweater was torn. Great. Just great.
"Ooh, that doesn't look good." he said, glancing at my torn sweater. "Sorry about that - totally all my fault. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, well, I can sew it back together...somehow...yeah, I'm alright." I answered, but inside I was screaming with anguish - Mom had given me that sweater on my 11th birthday.

I looked up and around, at everyone's confused faces and poor Indigo's sightless eyes. "Uh, guys - did anyone else feel that???" I asked, alarmed.
"I didn't feel anything." Alex shrugged.
Paige suddenly gasped and sat up as Aura, Doyle, and Indigo's efforts paid off.
"Oh, well how are you feeling, Paige?" I asked, distracted.
"Yeah, I'm doing just great." Paige answered, breathing hard.
"Great - anyway, I just felt...something. Something's wrong. Carla! Salifia! Oh no!" I suddenly sprung up from my stool and ran for the door.
"Hey! Em!" Alex called after me, but I was already gone.
Aura sighed and ran through the hall, towards the door, the rest in tow (Paige being helped by Doyle).

XD Oh, poor Julane
