139735 Looking forward to starting this! It's been on my horizon for a while and never popped to the top.

139735 Hehe, flew Delta on the outbound so I was watching movies instead of reading since have seat screens. Flying Alaska home and they make you use your own device, but they don't turn the wifi on to use until they're at altitude, so that's like 30 minutes on each end when you're bored. So planning lots of reading since that's offline!

139735 Yes, planning to listen during my flight home Sunday.

139735 Ooh, I had a choice of the dramatized version and a regular (?) version from Hoopla, and took the dramatized since I think that will help me follow along with the story. 🤞 Maybe some of us will join you in book 2! Thanks Lisa!!

139735 Actually, I can get the audiobook on Hoopla... Now, that being said, I'm not good at audiobooks, so I may not understand enough of the story to continue on with the series without a reread if we wanted to read further in the series, but it's something?

139735 Nope, all the library copies are checked out, and Libby has a four week hold. So go ahead and read it without me? I have an alternate book planned for that task, since even if we waited for me to get back from vacay, it's still a long time before I can get a copy. :/

139735 Let me check if my library has that, since I wanted to start that series anyway. It's my last day in town, so I'm probably not getting the chains finished until next week anyway.

139735 I endorse asking, million percent. I wouldn't even feel confident saying the sun sets in the west at this point lol...
Sep 08, 2025 09:09PM

139735 Fingers crossed! I feel like I saw only one book per toy, not one per chain, but goodness gracious it's been a day lol.
Sep 08, 2025 08:00PM

139735 Yep, that rule is hard since I read pretty much everything in varying degrees. My thinking is correct that only one book out of three must be outside of comfort zone, right? I've been wrong a lot today, so I'm paranoid now lol. I realized the book I'm using for MPG is also villain redemption adjacent, but the difference is that the villain isn't written evil and just has that reputation. Fantasy is a messed up genre lol. 🤣

139735 Since they're formal buddy reads, I think they have to be in the group thread, but I could be wrong. And I don't expect anyone to read the same books I am lol. I was struggling with magical bonding for a while today.
139735 Ah okay. It's just hard to tell what we'll land on and if we'll have a logged book that fits. Plus we have Salary spots to plan for, for which we'll be using the chunkiest books we have, and more or less trust to future fate there won't be a task later on we need those books for. We can only plan so far ahead. :)

139735 I did not anticipate how hard this would be, as a mood reader lol. Thankfully I was already in the mood for a spooky book, and then suddenly Fantasy is hitting... 😳 And I'm considering how to pack physical books for vacay lol, and I'm also telling myself not to do it. The toys are accomplishing their goal of making me insane. ;)

Add all the books! :) We won't know when something will work, or we have 9 books and need a 10th.

139735 Thanks Donna, I just went and read through the whole QA too. I was DEFINITELY overthinking it... Off to stare at books and wonder what fits the chains...
Sep 08, 2025 12:52PM

139735 Oh wait, Char, do you mean we have to read all three chain options? Now I'm confused, I thought we were picking one...
Sep 08, 2025 10:03AM

139735 Should we post in that we want MPG though? Sooner we find out, the sooner we can plan lol.
