Awesome, I'm glad that book log is a bit cleaner. I was using not nice words at Sheets today because filters weren't working. :P

Beth, ChatGPT tells me that Cauldron's Bubble could work for ethereal being with either Ariel or The Three Witches; do you agree with that? I'm not getting much info from the synopsis or reviews.

I can also use It Was Her House First (352 pages) since there are multiple ghosts in that story. It's smaller than The Screaming Staircase in number of pages.


I filled in our Salary section (since none of the big books were needed since we have smaller book options) and prepped the two bank transactions (salary and purchase). Task book for property still needs to be chosen and logged in the official spreadsheet, our team book log updated with that choice, and the turn completion post done. I'm stepping away for a moment but will be back before going out tonight.

Our turn again. I did our roll, and we landed on Middle Earth, which is available for purchase with task: Read a book that is beautifully written or features immortal or ethereal beings. I'll start looking at our logged books to see if anything works.

Also, we passed Salary. I see some books have already been transferred in, but data is missing? I will start finishing that off after looking for a task book, since one of the big books might work for this task.

Wish, yeah, using the chonkers now is definitely a valid strategy. I just tend to argue both sides lol. 😂 I'm fine either way, just presenting pros and cons. It's possible we would have other big books read before future Salary spaces too.

So using the biggest books for Salary was initially my thought, but since we landed on some earn spaces (with the higher payout), now I'm wondering if we should use a mix. It would be less $ now, but potentially more later IF the books worked for the tasks. It's a gamble later versus a sure thing now. Nothing saying we couldn't use those books we save now for a later Salary square. But how to decide what books to hold back, I don't know. So maybe it's best to use now and cope later lol.

Haha, oops, now I feel superfluous lol. 😂 Jk! I knew that Bette Davis was tough as nails while still elegant, but I'm definitely not elegant; I can be tough at least on the outside, but I try not to bring that attitude to reading challenges. 💖

Checking if all is well? I posted a completion Monday in my thread and there hasn't been a new task? Did I complete? I can't imagine it's over already lol.

Jayme, I appreciate the determination to partner in this challenge. It's sometimes a shot in the dark with partners, never knowing what we're walking into. I hope that my organization is helpful without being demanding lol. 😂

I don't think any of the cozies I need to be reading have a character facing mortality, and they would be a lower page count, so I'm cool with the 384 page book, but I also don't care what book we use. I just think it's worth getting the extra money for it versus Salary.

I have some friends who like to read, but they don't do reading challenges, so that's a bust.

Beth, good catch! I didn't see it when I posted, but maybe the spreadsheet didn't update on my side.
I think we use the 384 page book. Salary is only $.10 per page, so this is better. Also, we should probably start looking at salary books since we're getting close to one of those spaces.

LLF had requested their spin there, so I figured it must be the right place. Unless they requested in two places and I didn't find that spot. 😬
