Thanks! Yeah, me too, its going to be really interesting doing some of the other characters. Great idea to put it in the top comment - done that now. Yep, those all sound good. Just realised how many of these I remember from the books... things are about to get really nerdy around here, lol. Obviously her favourite books are the Count Vira books and her favourite celebrity is Jackson Caulfield. Then I remember her saying tofu was her favourite food, and in Take Two (MSTV #5) she told Charles her favourite movie was The Right One (one of Jackson's movies) and her favourite school subject was art. She also said in that scene that she loves the song Double Trouble.
I'm thinking her worst enemy would be Jessica Phelps, who was in Star Style (MSTV #8). Also another of her hobbies could be party-planning, since she did that in Twin Spins (MSTV #9) and seemed to enjoy it. Should that not really count though because she only did it once?
What do you guys think of a retelling fanfiction where Susannah survived? That might be interesting - less heartbreaking anyway!
Yo guys! Soph and I were thinking we'd try a new thing on the character discussions in this group. Basically, we try and fill in profiles for each character outlining their personality. This is just for fun but I think it'll be really cool to dig deeper into what defines these characters. This is kind of what I was thinking:Olivia Abbott:

We can work together to fill in the information by copying and pasting the list and adding a new answers when we think of them or find them in one of the books. Feel free to add more categories as well - these are just examples to get us started. Hopefully it'll be fun for us to test our obscure knowledge of Sienna Mercer's characters, and if we can't find any answers in the books we can just come up with what we think works for each character.

Definitely, that would be a really interesting story. I agree we need more Susannah.I'd really like to see Charles as a kid growing up in the Transylvanian manor with his parents. I remember Horatio saying in Love Bites (MSTV #6) he used to get up to all sorts of pranks and stuff with his brothers, which would be awesome to see. I'd really enjoy reading about a younger Horatio and the Count and Countess with their old attitudes towards bunnies too. Also, if Charles was a teen, it'd probably be in the 1800s or something. Seeing the vamp community in those days would be super interesting, for me anyways.
Something from the perspective of Jackson would also be cool, so we could see all his filming exploits and all that. I'm really getting into the idea of MSTV fanfictions now! :D

Omg, I totally forgot about that bit in Vampalicious! That'd be so awesome if it was the same guy. I don't remember what his name was, let me look it up ...... yes, it was him! Very clever of the person who wrote the fanfic to put that in. Yeah, the more I think about the Olivia, a Vampire one the more I don't like that ridiculous bit with Olivia's parents. That was just wrong. :P
Oh, yeah, the US covers may be different to the ones I was talking about.
Random question: the alternate title for this book (I don't know if it's the American title or what) is Fangs for the Memories. I've always wondered what this is supposed to mean... is it a play on thanks for the memories? Am I missing something really obvious here?

Haha, that's a good point Sage! I haven't come across anything really creepy about MSTV so far but I did leave out a couple from my comment which let's just say didn't really stay true to the feel of Sienna Mercer's books...I agree, I tend to enjoy fanfics that don't drastically change what happened in the canon but give you a new perspective or a little side story.
Ah, that's a great story! I will remember to look at fanfictions next time a book disappoints me, haha.
Yeah, I think a lot of people in the group would like to see more about Charles. Were you thinking a prequel with Olivia and Ivy's mum or his POV of the events in the MSTV series? I'm going to keep looking at different sites for fanfictions and hopefully sift out some more good ones - you're right, though, you have to tread carefully with fanfictions so you don't come across anything too weird!
I'm not too bothered about that because the general composition of the cover is the same, and none of the art styles are straight out horrible to me (though I admit I used to get really annoyed about Ivy's head shape on the Flipping Out! cover... kinda got over that now). If they'd replaced the drawings with real people or drastically changed the design, then I'd be really mad about it, but I'm used to them as they are. Hmm, we don't have Target or Barnes and Nobles here in the UK, but if/when I go to the USA I know which one I'll be shopping at!

I've just found one in Fangtastic (MSTV #2):"I swear I've tried," Ivy answered, pulling off a sheer black sweater to reveal a grey baby tee with an illustration of Edgar Allen Poe's face on it.
The couple of Poe's poems I've read I thought were cool and they definitely have a spooky feel about them which I'm sure is why Ivy's into them.
I also just watched Forbidden Planet, which I mentioned in an earlier comment. I quite enjoyed it but didn't think it was amazing. The whole aliens and robots thing did remind me a lot of Camilla though. I wonder if this film was Sienna Mercer's actual inspiration for Camilla's sci-fi Shakespeare play, and then she credited it through Camilla saying it was awesome. That'd be really cool.
Recently I've been looking at a couple of MSTV fanfictions on Fanfiction.net and surprisingly, I quite enjoyed them. Here's my thoughts:Wishing for a Twin by bitternessbitesback
This is a cute little story about the moments before they met that Olivia and Ivy wished they had a twin. I kind of remember Ivy saying when she first met Olivia that she always knew something was missing, so this really goes with that. I particularly liked the reference to Mimi and Kara (Olivia's friends at her old school). I'm pretty sure they were only mentioned once in the original series so that's quite an obscure reference which I thought was really cool.

This one's a clever little retelling of the part in Date With Destiny (MSTV #10) where Olivia gets stung by Bloodbite Nettles, but here they cause Olivia to become a vampire. I like the way that they used an actual scene from the books and changed it, and this story also addresses the slightly depressing future of Ivy living way longer than Olivia will. I think we've talked about how sad this is in the group before, so I thought this story presented an interesting perspective on that. It does feel slightly too perfect though - they said in the series that there's a one in a thousand chance of a human surviving the turning-into-a-vampire process, and here it seemed pretty simple. Also I'm not a huge fan of (view spoiler) Still, quite an interesting fanfiction.
Apart from those two I haven't so far found any I like, but I'd like to try some more in future. Have you guys read one of these or any other MSTV fanfictions? Are you interested in them? Let's chat!
