I’ve started Tough Love by Susan Rice. I also needed a book with an orange cover, so I checked out Fury by Rachel Vincent from the library. Just finished it, and will now have to go back and read books 1 and 2 of the trilogy.
This weekend I read She Will Rise by Katie Hill, and what we need to do to achieve equality. Fascinating read. Next up is Tough Love by Susan Rice. And more graphic novels.
I like to read magazines, catalogs (mostly ikea and Bed, Bath, and Beyond), and I love to read recipes (I do like cooking- and baking- but currently hate my kitchen). My online reading is usually either Facebook or Instagram.
I didn't do any reading this weekend, I spent the weekend cleaning my apartment and getting (more) organized. Not done yet, but I'm getting closer. I haven't started Murder on Pleasant Avenue, and I've got new books that I just checked out: A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg; Begin Again: James Baldwin's America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Ow;, Avengers: The War of the Realms, vol. 1; and Birds of Prey: Huntress (the last two are both graphic novels that I'm reading for book club).
I reread The Hills Have Spies by Mercedes Lackey, and then read the other two books- Eye Spy and Spy, Spy Again for the first time (good series). I found a memoir by Maria Bello (from NCIS) Whatever... Love is Love, a history of the semicolon- Semicolon: the Past, Present, and Future of a Misunderstood Mark, and another memoir- The Fixed Stars by Molly Wizenburg. Next up is Murder on Pleasant Avenue- the newest Victoria Thompson mystery.
1) Go Tell It on the Mountain- James Baldwin2) Party of Two- Jasmine Guillary
4) The Art of Theft- Sherry Thomas- surely Sherlock Holmes has reached mythiological status.
5) Whatever...Love is Love- Maria Bello
7) Spy, Spy Again- Mercedes Lackey (hopefully not the last- but at least I am now caught up).
I recently finished Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin and Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory, and am now reading The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas.
Sometimes I'll reread a favorite series, and sometimes I'll see if any of my auto-buy authors have any new books coming out soon. I also binge watch, either mystery series or movie series. The marvel series is a good one to binge watch. I've also been reorganizing and rearranging my apartment, which oddly enough makes me more likely to read in the evening than to watch tv.
I recently finished Love and Death Among the Cheetahs by Rhys Bowen, and A Murderous Relation by Deanna Raybourne. Currently, I am reading Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin, and also A Study in Scarlet Women by Sherry Thomas. I'm still reading down the mountain of library books I had checked out while we were shut down.
1. Pride & Prejudice- Jane Austen 2. Next in Line for Love- Harper Bliss
4. GenderQueer- Maia Kobabe
5. Rachel Maddow- Lisa Rogak
6. The Boy, the Mole, The Fox, and the Horse- Charlie Mackesy
7. Something to Talk About- Meryl Wilsner
I finished Pride and Prejudice, which I liked but didn't love. I'm curently reading Meg and Jo by Virginia Kantra, and as many graphic novels as I can snap up on Hoopla. After I finish Meg and Jo, I've got too start reading my library books, not books that I own.
I finished Pride & Prejudice! Good book, I still think I prefer Sense & Sensibility better, but I did like Lizzie and Mr. Darcy. I'm now reading Meg & Jo by Virginia Kantra (a retelling of Little Women), and next up is Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin. While browsing Hoopla I found Love is Love- an anthology of comics and graphic art created in response to the Pulse Shooting in Orlando.
I finished Pride & Prejudice! It was good, I enjoyed it. I still think I like Sense & Sensibility better. I am currently reading Meg & Jo by Virginia Kantra (a retelling of Little Women). Next up is Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin. I also found a book, Love is Love, on Hoopla- that is a collection of comics and graphic art produced in response to the Pulse shooting in Orlando.

April was my slow month, and May is the month I read a lot. I finished Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert, I read the biography of Rachel Maddow, reread The Last Herald-Mage by Mercedes Lackey, and read The Runaways series Graphic Novels by Brian K. Vaughan. I'm still reading Pride and Prejudice, and then I have the stack of library books as well as the stack of books recently purchased at the reopened Barnes & Noble. I can't wait. :)
1. Runaways, vol. 1: Pride and Joy by Brian K. Vaughan2. Runaways, vol. 2: Teenage Wasteland by Brian K. Vaughan
3. Magic's Pawn by Mercedes Lackey
4. ABC Murders by Agatha Christie
5. Promising Hearts by Radclyffe
6. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
I'm currently switching back and forth between the biography about Rachel Maddow (big surprise, right?), Pride and Prejudice (online bookclub book), and Runaways, vol. 1 (on Hoopla). I've also got couple of books that just came out that I want to go pick up at B&N.
I finished reading The ABC Murders, and am still working on Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert, and am eyeing my to be read pile to see what should come next. I'll also be checking out the graphic novels on Hoopla.
I've always been a nerd: Star Wars, Star Trek (and the books about the different series). I love movies: Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit. Lately I've been binge watching tv shows: Arrow, The Flash, Super Girl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Librarians...While working from home, I've been working on getting my house organized, but I started a jigsaw puzzle this weekend: a 1000 piece puzzle of the Marauder's Map from Harry Potter.
I just finished What We Talk About When We Talk About Books, and am currently reading Golden in Death by J.D.Robb on my phone (reading it with the Libby app). The books book was interesting, I loved that there were 52 libraries opened in the London Underground during the Blitz. I also like the idea of a reading club: you get together somewhere and just read together. I had PBS on the other day for background noise, and they were showing Gene- all about genetics, the past, the future, the opportunities. Now I'll have to try and catch more, or at least finish the episode.
