My goal for this year is 125 books, to read as many of the book club books as I can, and to read more nonfiction. At the moment, I am currently reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.
I prefer physical books to ebooks- however, I am currently binging on cozy mysteries, and am finding all sorts of new authors and new series thanks to B&N's under $3 Nook book sale. I liked both Hunger Games and Divergent (and agree that Order is one of the best HP books). If you liked those, you might also like Defiance, Deception, Deliverance by C.J. Redwine.
I read the Twilight series in a week, but couldn't get through the 1st 50 shades book at all. Sylvia Day's books are much better written. :)
And I agree with Michelle, getting hit on the head by a paperback is much less startling than getting hit by a Nook.
I finished Murder Past Due by Miranda James and read Murder on the Last Frontier by Cathy Pegau (set in Alaska during Prohibition) and Uniformly Dead by Greta McKennan. Currently I am reading Gone Gull by Donna Andrews and the Whole 30 books, I'm going to start the program either Saturday or Monday. Wish me luck. :)
Hey Ashley, Welcome to the group. I'm glad the snow is gone, hopefully we won't get any more any time soon.Despite falling asleep multiple times each day that we were snowed in, I did manage to continue my binge reading of cozy mysteries. So far this year, I've read: Murder in the Paperback Parlor and Murder in the Secret Garden by Ellery Adams, The Bluebonnet Betrayal by Marty Wingate, and Stowed Away by Barbara Ross.
I am currently reading Murder Past Due by by Miranda James. and the Home Decluttering Diet by Jennifer Lifford.
I would also like to thank you for running the challenge again. I enjoy seeing what everyone else is reading, and letting people know when I find a great book. I can't wait for next years new books. :)
I'm going to spend Christmas down on the Outer Banks with my family, being lazy and having fun. I'm still binging on cozy mysteries, and I finally finished Wired to Create (fascinating book- glad I read it).
Have a great week, too.
I finished Iced Under and read A Killer Plot by Ellery Adams, Union Street Bakery by Mary Ellen Taylor, The Other Alcott by Elise Hooper, and Murder in the Mystery Suite by Ellery Adams. Not sure what is next, probably more cozies (or a Louisa May Alcott binge read).
I've read three: Oliver Twist, The Secret Garden, and One Hundred Years of Solitude. I've read both Oliver and The Secret Garden a few times. One Hundred Years was a fascinating book, not sure I'd reread it though (but I'm glad I read it).
I finished Boiled Over by Barbara Ross, as well as A Dark and Stormy Murder and Death in Dark Blue both by Julia Buckley, Dead Storage by Mary Feliz, Eaves of Destruction by Kate Carlisle, and Musseled Out and Fogged Inn both by Barbara Ross.I'm currently reading Iced Under by Barbara Ross, and still working on Wired to Create (I read it for a bit and then it loses me- I have the attention span of a hamster).
I finished reading Death by Tea by Alex Erickson and Clammed Up by Barbara Ross. I'm working on Boiled Over by Barbara Ross, The Pirate Queen: Queen Elizabeth I, Her Pirate Adventurers, and the Beginning of Empire by Susan Ronald, and Wired to Create (still). I also started working on my NaNo book. :)
I finished Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown, If Books Could Kill by Kate Carlisle, and Prose & Cons by Amanda Flower. I'm currently reading Death by Tea by Alex Erickson and still working on Wired to Create (fascinating book- easier in small chunks though- there is a lot to think about).
I've read 4: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, The Hobbit, Les Miserables (it's been years, but well worth the read), and Lolita. The three I want to read are Anna Karenina, Love in the Time of Cholera (I've read 100 Years of Solitude), and Hitchhiker's Guide.
It was fascinating, seeing everything that she went through. Can't wait to read their book about Eliza. One interesting fact: both Patsy Jefferson Randolph and Eliza Schuyler Hamilton spent their later years living in Washington, DC.
I finished America's First Daughter and also read Scheduled to Death by Mary Feliz. I am currently reading Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown, and Wired to Create by Scott Barry Kaufman and Carolyn Gregoire. Not sure what to read next.
I've been binging on cozy mysteries: Crowned and Moldering and Deck the Hallways, both by Kate Carlisle; Bearly Departed by Meg Macy; Address to Die For by Mary Feliz; Homicide in Hardcover by Kate Carlisle; and The Garden Plot by Marty Wingate. Currently I am reading America's First Daughter by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie (who have also written a book titled My Dear Hamilton- which won't be out until April, curse them).
A holiday home renovation, with a squad of Santas, is put in jeopardy when someone on the naughty list kills off Mr. Grinch.
