121177 Welcome back!
I'm still reading Imprudence at work, and working my way though my Anita Blake marathon, I've just finished Skin Trade, and I also read the new one (Crimson Death). I'll probably finish the marathon and then reread Crimson Death. I've checked out the newest Mercedes Lackey last Saturday, and want to read that as well.

121177 My read at home book is Danse Macabre by Laurell K. Hamilton, and my read at work book is Imprudence by Gail Carriger. After them, I've got Bullseye by James Patterson and Hero of the Empire by Candice Millard. And maybe by then I'll get Apprentice in Death by J.D. Robb (I'm currently 27 in line).

121177 This week I am reading Incubus Dreams by Laurell K. Hamilton. After that I have three books checked out from the library to read: Imprudence by Gail Carriger, Bullseye by James Patterson, and Hero of the Empire: the Boer War, a Daring Escape, and the Making of Winston Churchill by Candice Millard (all of which looked very interesting).

121177 Of the 31 titles on the 30 Best Horror Books of all time, I have read 4.5 (I started The Shining, but stopped half way through) and watched 4 of the movies (Ghost Story was filmed in part at Stetson University- my alma mater). Not a fan of horror.

Suggestions? I've got quite a few. :)
Susan Elia Macneal, Laurie R. King, Charles Todd, Anne Perry, J.D. Robb, Carola Dunn, Kerry Greenwood (her series is available on DVD as well- filmed in Australia), Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling)... That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Enjoy.

121177 I've read a few more of Laurell K. Hamilton: Lunatic Café, Bloody Bones, The Killing Dance, Burnt Offerings, Blue Moon, and Narcissus in Chains. I've also started a new steampunk series: Prudence by Gail Carriger.

121177 My plans for this week are to continue my Laurell K. Hamilon book binge, to get the next to books in Robin D. Owen's series, and perhaps include the Lord of the Rings in my binging.

I haven't binge read the books in a while, but I do frequently binge the DVDs (the extended versions with all the lovely extras), have them on as background noise while cleaning my apartment. Visiting New Zealand (heck moving to New Zealand) is high on my bucket list. :)

121177 Have you ever made crazy reading goals for yourself? Did you succeed?

I used to be able to read the entire Lord of the Rings in a weekend. I've also been known to binge reread an entire series: Mercedes Lackey, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Laurie R. King... :)

121177 I read Any Minute Now by Eric Van Lustbader, and am now reading Die Like an Eagle by Donna Andrews. After I finish The Last Jews in Berlin, I think I'll add When Books Went to War by Molly Guptill Manning (on sale for 2.99 on B&N) as my nonfiction book to read.

121177 Most of the books I haven't finished lately have been nonfiction, and not because they weren't good, but because I thought they sounded interesting but lost momentum when I started reading them. Some of them I might go back and reread.
121177 Of the Good Reads Top 100, I've read 34 (most of them Shakespeare). :)

121177 It wasn't real life getting in the way of my reading, but my vacation (I went to Savannah). I did finish reading Night with a Seal and the next two books in the series (Saved by a Seal and Sealed at Midnight) by Cat Johnson. I'm still working on the Last Jews in Berlin but not very quickly. I'm not sure what to read next, probably one of the mound of books I brought back from Savannah.

121177 I finished reading The Curse of Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones. I am still working on The Last Jews in Berlin, and have started reading Night with a Seal by Cat Johnson. I've also got a couple of audiobooks to listen to, not sure which one I'll end up listening to.

121177 I finished The Cuckoo's Calling, and am just waiting for my B&N order to come in before I read Silkworm. I am currently reading a book I found, watching PBS one morning when I should have been getting ready for work, called Everyone Brave is Forgiven. It is set in England during World War II, and is based on the lives of the author's grandparents.

121177 My advice is- try new things: new genres, new authors. If something sounds interesting, give it a try.

121177 I like to keep track of what I've read, and how many books I've read in a year. And I love talking about what I'm reading and finding out what other people have read.
