118012 I'm in too! I actually saw it performed years ago, but haven't read it.
118012 This month's World Lit choice takes us to Pakistan, with the memoir I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. Malala was the youngest nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize at 16. Discover her story.
118012 Our August Genre pick is King Lear by William Shakespeare. It's Shakespeare's 400th anniversary this year, so let's celebrate with a tragedy!
118012 This month's Young Adult pick is Graceling by Kristin Cashore. It's a standalone Fantasy - the two other books in the series are companion novels.

What do you think of the Seven Kingdoms?

118012 How about a Jane Eyre adaptation? Jane Steele came out this year. I'm afraid I haven't read it yet, so can't say what I think, but reviews are promising.

If you enjoy Gothic ghost stories / mysteries, one I have actually read is Lost Among the Living. It's by one of the few authors that I actually try to read as they come out. Set after WWI.

118012 This is a great excuse to re-read some old favorites. I'm thinking of doing at least level 1, and focusing on Roald Dahl. The previews for the recent release of the BFG have made me nostalgic and I want to re-read the book before I watch it! And then probably a couple of others too.

Level 1 - The Nursery - 2 books
1. The BFG
2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Level 2 - First Years - 4 books
3. The Twits
4. Matilda

118012 August Book Tag

How many books will you tag in August?

*Each book you tag earns 5 points. (Completed books.)

*Add to that 5 points for each group activity that you participate in with that book. Tag it with as many as you can - challenges, games, group reads, buddy reads, readathons - to get the most out of it.

*25 bonus points if you meet your personal monthly goal (number of books read).

*10 bonus points for each challenge or game for which you complete a level during the month.

*You don't have to read the exact books that you plan - the number is what's important, and you determine what is reasonable for you. You're only competing against yourself, so help yourself meet those goals!

Use the template below to state your goal, track your progress and report on your accomplishments.

118012 I finished The Peach Keeper. There was not as much magical realism as I hoped from Sarah Addison Allen - and not enough peaches, either!

118012 Lol!
118012 Ok, so I started it. I'd heard people either like the format or don't, and I was struggling with it, so I moved onto something else. It also had a very YA tone to it that I wasn't in the mood for, so... anyone else have any reactions, good or bad?

Hi Lynnette! My favorite genres are the same as yours, and one of my "out of comfort zone" genres is thriller/suspense. The Travelers falls into international spy thriller category and was released in 2016. I haven't read it yet (am planning to soon), but thought you might find it interesting.
