118012 That's really interesting, Joseph! I never thought of reviewing music before!

What kind of music do you listen to?

118012 Hi Violaine! Your questions are exactly why this thread is here, so hopefully we can clear things up for you.

Our group reads for September appear at the top of the group, in the Currently Reading section. Currently, there's To Kill a Mockingbird, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Eleanor & Park and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West. They're not required reading, you can choose whether you wish to take part.

If you scroll down to the 'Group Reads' section, you'll see our discussion threads for them, where we talk about them throughout the month.

If you scroll down a bit further, you'll see a section for 'Group Read Nominations', these are set up roughly half way through the month, where you can nominate a book to read for that particular group read. It then goes to a poll, where generally a larger amount of members vote for the one they want to read most. We generally send out a group message around that time in order to highlight the threads or polls, so keep an eye out!

I hope this answers your questions, and isn't so confusing. The Helpful Hints on How To Use This Group gives a big overview of the group, which may help you a bit.

Feel free to ask any more questions if you're still confused, or have a completely different issue. We'll be happy to help!

And welcome to the group.
118012 That fanfiction just sounds worrying! I'm umming and ahhing whether or not to read this. The length is definitely very tempting!

118012 I can't deal with the gifs either! It just totally ruins the review for me, plus they seem really really popular.

118012 That's fantastic, Colleen! I admit, I am extremely jealous!
118012 Just added this to my Kindle! Will probably get reading right away!

118012 Reviewing is something I think is one of the best things about Goodreads. They're usually really useful, and they often play a big part in my decision to read a book.

I know some people review every book they read, straight away. Others kind of block-write them, and some don't do them at all. It's a habit I'd personally love to develop, but I've got such a backlog I've been putting it off for ages!

Do you review every book? How important do you find them? If you could give one tip about writing reviews, what would it be?

118012 Chase, that's an epic list! I'm planning on reading Wuthering Heights and The Picture of Dorian Gray this September too!
118012 I've read far more mysteries than I thought I would!

118012 Journey to the Centre of the Earth is a fantastic book. I hope you enjoy it!

118012 Sorry this thread is so late! I was just about to post on it, and realised I haven't even set it up!

Along with it being the Classics genre month and the readathon coming up, I can imagine there'll be some lists that are going to be awesome!

118012 My hangovers aren't generally too bad, I just generally feel rather ill. So I just lay in bed all day and feel sorry for myself, hence the perfect opportunity to read!

Still undecided about what I'm going to read. I might just see what takes my fancy on the day!

118012 I'm glad the challenge helped you so much!!

118012 Iasa, I am so jealous of your comfy chair!!!

I'm actually travelling for most of Saturday, which isn't too bad when it comes to reading. I do have a party Saturday night, so hopefully being slightly hungover will give me an excuse to sit in bed all day and read on Sunday!
