118012 Gah, I'm hoping to start reading this later today! I'm super excited!

118012 I read:

Bloodline by Claudia Gray (finished)
Annihilation
The Communication Room
Station Eleven

All were great reads and I managed to get the ball rolling with reading again. I fell out of it for a month or so, so it's good to be jumping on the bandwagon again. Not quite on track for the reading challenge, but managed to claw some back!

118012 Just finished my fourth book, Station Eleven! 5 stars from me, and you can check out my review!

Debating which book to start next now...

118012 Just started Station Eleven!

Very intrigued by the first 50 pages. I admit, the literature geek in me is loving all the Shakespeare references...

118012 Brittany, I found it really interesting! It's definitely a different read, but it works so well! I'm definitely planning on checking out the sequel, although I'll keep your comments in mind! From the synopsis, it sounds an intriguing way to take the story!

Just finished book 3! A novella from NetGalley: The Communication Room
118012 This one is on my list for the readathon, and I'm honestly so excited to get started. I've heard such good things about it.

118012 Sam, that's insane progress!

What did you think of Out of the Silent Planet? I've been considering delving into C.S. Lewis' science fiction for a while, but have always been slightly hesitant!
118012 This book has been at the focus of LGBT and YA fiction for a while now, and loved by many!

Exploring the realities of sexuality and discovering who you are, it's captivated the hearts of many people!

Discussion starts June 1st, and a discussion leader would be great! If you want to, just take the helm and post some questions or tidbits for people to answer/think about!
118012 With the focus on Western Europe, it isn't surprising that a World War II focused novel has been picked for this month!

Anthony Doerr's book looks at occupied France in his Pulitzer Prize winner, and it looks to be an exciting, emotive read!

Discussion starts June 1st, and it would be great to have a discussion leader! If you want to, just post in this thread!
118012 We're back to the Classics this month with our Alternate Group Read, and there's nothing like a bit of John Steinbeck!

Of Mice and Men is probably his most famous novel, and is frequently studied in schools. (mine included!)

Discussion starts June 1st, and having a discussion leader would be great! I'll be happy to take it up if no-one else wants to!

118012 Somehow I managed to finish another book last night: Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer (ironically, I wrote about him in one of my last essays...).

So that's two books down, and hoping to get another two or so done!

Everyone seems to be doing so well!
118012 I've already deviated slightly from my planned list, but I allowed it because it was a short read, and managed to get it finished in an evening!

Onto Book 3!
118012 We're still looking for feedback, so if anyone has any thoughts, don't hesistate to put them here!

118012 We're already nearly half way through the year and I hope everyone's reading is going well!

What did you end up getting round to reading in May? Any surprises? Anything you'd like to recommend?

118012 First book down! Now debating what to read next!
May 31, 2016 03:49AM

118012 New Badges added!

Added:
Chunkster Challenge
Spring Readathon
Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere! (May)
118012 It's absolutely chucking it down here (why does the weather go bad as soon as I'm done with uni?!), so I'm planning on spending the day curled up under a blanket reading!

118012 I'm half way through Bloodline! I'm reading a bit slower than I'd like, but my busy weekend is done so I now have more free time to sit and read!
118012 I know the feeling, Camille! The last few months have been awful for reading. Fingers crossed it will get us both out!
118012 All the comments on here make me so excited to start! Roll on tomorrow!
