118012 Hurrah! I've done a bit of research and I think the current polls will show up at the top of the Polls page. Yay!

Thanks for your patience. :)
118012 P. S. I also loved Cry, the Beloved Country, The Return of the Soldier, and Silas Marner. All of which are a bit shorter that the Victorians above. But equally powerful.
118012 Clare wrote: "The State of the Nation 'flavour' is proving to be a tough one for me. I stated White Teeth and battled with it for a week and and ended up putting on my Try and read another day shelf ..."

I loved both Bleak House and Little Dorrit. You also might like The Mayor of Casterbridge, which was excellent. And Elizabeth Gaskell is really terrific, even though you don't hear about her as much as Dickens and Hardy.

118012 Hi, All! The polls are up for April. Polling will close on March 30, 2016.

To access the current polls, click the word "polls" to the right of the screen, then scroll to the last page of the polls.

Holly is so much better at this! I can't seem to get the April polls to show up at the top. :( Sorry for the inconvenience.

118012 Yeah. That would be a challenge. :(

But you'll have lots of time to read other lovely books! :D

118012 Yes, I'm pretty sure that you would need to. Also pretty sure they're starting with The Warden.

118012 I think Manga Shakespeare is a brilliant concept. Reminds me of the old Classic Comics which did illustrated/graphic versions of classic novels. They were addicting.

118012 Looks perfect. Hope you enjoy!

118012 I'm in a group called Readers Review that's planning to read all the Barsetshire and Palliser novels as part of a Trollope Project. I believe the plan is to begin with The Warden in June, if you're interested.

118012 Great to hear it, Linda! I'll definitely move that one up my Trollope list.
