Ok, just finished ep 8 and I'm disapointed.
I think that Armstrong is doing a pretty great job of making the books not that sexistic, but that sex scene with Nick? Awful sexistic! 1, leading to the sex: He is the seducer, the active one, she is obcenely passive. 2, when they are doing the foreplay we have one part of her doing absolutely nothing else than following his cues and moan a bit. And the camera? it totaly focus on her, making her a object. The focus of the scene points out every thing that make my "fast porn-surfing thingie" end up in an hour of searching the web for anything good do I can get off like today!
And I don't think Jeremy is well portraited, Clay is mushy in ways that makes him less hot, Elena is fine but can't they get to the part where they stay with Phillip and Clay is pretending to be her cousin? my fav part of the whole series!

Except for one period when my in-laws and brother-in-law were living with us for five months, then I couldn't stand sound or music or anything. As soon as I got to my work I turned the radio of and basked in the wonderful silence, lol!
To get back on topic: WVMP is my favourite music-related series. The music is there through the books, and the author (Jeri Smith-Ready) have crerated playlists on her website with the music mentioned in the books. I love it!

I have gotten so far as I know I'll wan't to have Katla in it. (The cruel, cruel dragon of the brothers Lionheart, which happen to be the name my sister calls me, nooo idea why. ;) ). But more? I've been thinking about Katla Kofot, kofot means Crowbar in swedish (that kind of name, like "Kent Knife" was a common name for criminals in Sweden for some decades ago). Or maybe Katla Cunt-something. But what is that something, that not sounds like I'm a rapist? Or Katla Crusader? Crusad-her? Cuntla?
I don't know, do have any suggestions? Or someting that not works?

And I started to think about which music that makes you think about a book or a series?
Or something else that takes you back into the world of a book?

On that note: I really enjoyed The Boss by Abigail Barnette, I tried to have my husband to read it but he bailed because of the english. To bad. :p

Eek!

And I probably hae to read Unholy Ghosts sometime soon.

And sorry for hijacking the thread, if it's better for the discussion you can put it in an own thread.

The common opinion is "kids gonna have sex, provise them with knowledge about safe methods and to say no when they (only girls, boys always want to have sex ofc!) don't want to, and stay clear, if we say NO they gonna end up pregnant and in denial until there is to late for abortion or with a lot of STDs". Which I find great, apart from that rape culture thing in the middle.
So, how was the common opinion about this where you grew up/live?
I'm from Stockholm, Sweden.

My opinion is that the MC is to be adored for her ability to stay chaste, but that the choice to stay so often has anything to do with that she has followed her inner wishes (in which cases she of course shouldn't do anything that she wouldn't wan't to do, but other than thinking about WHY she so often don't have had any interest in sex, I find that it's often about that she hasn't had the balls (ovaries?) to do something about it but has stayed on safe ground where she knew the rules. Which she of course abandon when a strong, experienced man comes along to sweep her away.
A list of books to stay clear of (or at least be prepared of) sounds great, but I would really enjoy a opposite list even more, books where the MC have had an actual sexlife and is experienced! That's what I wan't to read!
