I so agree!
Edward Cullen: breaking in to sit and watch her sleep? Charming, eeeerr, noooo!!

I think there is this difference, for me anyways, that makes a character go from attractive bad boy to shitty asshole, and that is when he starts to mistreat the MC. If we look at Reyes Farrow or Terrible, they are def bad boys, but they treat the MC good, or shitty in an explainable way (like when they are hurt and do things I would understand in a MC, or myself for that matter), then I stop being attracted to them.
Mostly it's stalker behaviour (and this seems like a big thing at the moment?), like Illona Andrews Curran or why not the famous Mr Grey? Or like Mircea, or any other vamp who wants to own the MC and control what she does. That is the most obvious for me.

Came to think about: doesn't have to be bad
boys explicit, bad girls is fine as well. Unfortuneally I don't see those as much in books as I see bad boys.

I can't be the only one that is having this problem? At one hand I got this bad boy complex, and I got it bad. On the other hand, I donät want to see the MC get puched around by a stupid alpha male, who don't consider a mere woman to be able to utter a complete sentence.
Do you have a bad boy complex? When did you find out? Can you merge the bad boy complex with your other personal values?
And of course: Any book recommendations based on bad boys?

Yes, I agree with the long explanations, it slowed the pace and I think she could have vowen the info in better, or might even waited uttil next book with it.
Are you up to joining me for Claimed by Shadow like tomorrow? :)

I'm done with Touch the Dark. Since this will be a lot of spoilers I hide it, so DO NOT READ unless you've already read Touch the Dark!
(view spoiler)[Oh, where to start...
At first, I payed close attention to the virgin part after the discussion here. And I don't know, even if we go for Agnes version, isn't it a little dull? I mean, she is only a virgin in the patriarchist way. She has already had sex, she has already come under the hands and mouth of Mircea. Does that mean that a lesbian Pythia can never gain control over her powers, because she doesn't have a holy cock to put inside her? I call bullshit! I can maybe buy that it's about that she has to feel that she've lost her virginity and that Cassie in strong in the mindset of our patriarchal ways, but I'm not sure about that one either. It doesn't add up!
Other than that: Omg, I love Dante's! I like that she isn't about to throw the control over her life overboard, but fights to control it. I very much donät like Mircea. His bossy alpha male-thing is so turning me off.
This book is very world building, but from here it's more action and I really like the other books more. It really gets better and better for each book! (hide spoiler)]

Oh, I put Three Parts Dead on my TBR, it seemed really good!

Woop woop! I'm actually soo excited, finally I get to dive into the world of Cassie and Dorina again.
...Did you know that it's because of the short story
Buying Trouble I decided to quit eat meat?
Here's a great link with a timeline in which order the books are. And a tip: if you're in on Karen Chance's home page and find the gallery: Look at the pictures but DO NOT READ THE TEXT'S about the characters. Loads of spoilers! Now it's finally time for me to pick up Touch the Dark again, read two chapters last night and have waited all day to be able to pick it up again.

I think, better start a thread! Whick speed are we going to have? Or just read and see whick tempo we're having?

Lol, when do we start? Yesterday? ;)

Rachel - yes! Do it! I could do a re-read so we can buddy read it?

I found it on amazon. :) If you deosen't have a kindle it should be simle just to download calibre and change the format of the book so you can read it on your e-reader?

Glad to see that we are at least two in this group. :)
Oh, I haven't kept myself up to date, but that book is about Mircea, right? I am totally not team Mircea. ;)

Danielle, thanks! That sounds great!

Have anyone read the series? I have - two times. I absolutely loves it. Everyone should read it. It's a little virginity-yadayada, and a little to accepting against jealosy, but in exchange everything other than that is lovely, so I can see past that.
I can actually say that there isn't many worlds that lives so vividly in my mind as Chance's world do to me. I haven't read about ten books a second time and loved every minute, like I did that one. After like three Palmer books there is the Dorina Basarab books which is in the same world, not quite touching each other, and they change between the series for the next couple of books. And I'm not kidding when I say I felt sad every time a book ended "Aww, now I don't get to read about Cassie/Dorina in the next book.", and then I started in on the next and was swallowed immediately.
I LOVE IT! Have you read it yet? If not, please do!

Oh, Kyrstan that's awesome! I knew I did the right thing in posting my question here! Now I know what I will be up to when I've finished downside. :)

I don't know who is narrating the book but this version of skulduggery pleasant I totallt love.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lUATO...Vampire kisses, I don't even know how i finished it, because I really doesn't like the narrator:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3QSuD...But I use to listen on the work when I have some things that doesn't take any mind capacity but have to be done, or while doing my stretching. And then I can't just turn it of just then, so usually I play Candy Crush Saga for an hour afterwards while continue listening, lol.

I was thinking, I can't come up with even one series where the MC is homosexual or bisexual? There is a gay friend (mostly male friend of the MC, not than common with female friend, but it happens) and the MC thinks it's cool but she just happens to be completely heterosexual herself. And sure, that can be how it is, but every time?
Where are the book where the MC actually is bisexual or homosexual herself? Have anyone found it?

I was thinking about Rachel Morgan you mentioned Danielle: the thing I absolutely loved about Rachel is that she is one of the few MCs that isn't meeting her like big love in book one and the series big theme is about how it works out between the MC and this guy. And that's refreshing.

Yes. I have this opinions in the beginning on how the mc should change, and now I'm pretty happy that she is this anti-hero that she is. In other books when the mc is doing things that's not social acceptable in the beginning of the series she changes. I don't know in how many books the mc is only working out under gun point, three books later she works out like daily because she want to? And maybe that's the reason this books are so refreshing as they are, at least to me.
