116885 Sounds like a great night Kim! We were planning on going when UFC is coming to Sockholm in october, but we weren't that impressed by the lineup so I don't know how we'll do.

I think you just solved the mystery with the missing single socks in laundry!

116885 Nick, that could SO be me. But I don't really have to be reading to shut everything out, my mind is facinating enough to focus on. Once I was with my family on the public bath, and suddenly my partner says
"Carolin, you are REALLY rude now!"
I didn't understand what he was talking about when he told me my co-worker had tried to get my attention like five times, and was standing two metres away. Whoops!

Of course, it's hard to pester people on Goodreads while living in the sewers... I've heard. No personal experience!

I have that ability as well, always when I'm focused enough on something I can't hear when someone calling my name.

I tried that, Carolin. But it really seemed to upset my boss..."

Since we're at least two night-shift-working europeans here I think you'll have to start sleep daytime instead. ;)
116885 Yeah, he was a little better on the end. And I do appreciate to have something different, where I'm not able to figure the end out twenty pages into the book. So it was a very refreshing reading!

PS: Check out Tumblr the following days, I've tagged the quotes with your name (and brackenford, and title, and...) so they're pretty searchable.

116885 I didn't make it through that series, stopped halfway into book 5 or something. Have Gunslinger on my Kindle, plan on starting in on it soon. But my book slump got in the way, lol!

I Think it is like a kind of sorrow for a World that is lost for me at the moment, until I choose to read it again, but even then it's not all the same, because it is not the same when you know what will happen. Now I've read GOt for months, and now when I've finished book 5 it is hard to let it go, I still WANT to be there, but it is closed for me at the moment. So I Think that is why I have trouble getting into a new story.

116885 Hasan, I use to lower the volume on the music, I don't like it to high.

Unless I'm on the train, there I have the volume high enough so I don't have to hear the other people, lol.

116885 I listen to music while reading as well, it fades into the backdrop and I just realize what I'm listening to sometimes when I hear myself sing along, lol.

If I have a stressful period I prefer to have it quiet around me though.
