Lol I can see it, how I open the book and 60 mages appear out of thin air, all starting to introduce the book, all of them trying to speak louder than the others so I just sit there in the living room, dumbfounded while 60 mages scream about the book! :D

116885 LJ yeah that's a really great idea, but ince it means I have to read it again to find the offensive parts I think I just throw it away!

Jeff I understand, and if it's a book I don't particuallary like but it's not offensive I have no problems with anyone else liking it, then I give it to someone who might like it or to second hand.

I actually own a copy of, if not the most hatefilled book in history, easy top three. But then my copy of Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Witches) comes with 60 mages of introduction before the hate begins. :p

116885 Yeah, Ilove her anyways, and it was good, despite the few things I didn't like!

116885 I spent the day at work guarding a carpet fitter work.... and read almost the whole book, finished the last pages when I got home. I liked it but I found it a bit predictable. Will read the next because it was still good, but well... I kind of knew most things that were about to happen.

116885 I agree with Amanda here.

To distrubute hateful messages is to support them. If you had a CD containing white power music, would you donate it, for other to hear and maybe be inspired by? I wouldn't. If I had a hard cover copy of Berivik's manifest, I wouldn't donate it for others to read either. Sure, I could give it to someone needing it for a work they were doing or something, but to charity for whomever to pick up? No.

This particular book used the i-word instead of native americans, and had other, degrading, word to describe native americans. And not like one person in a brawl, but most everyone in the whole book. So they are normalizing degrading speech, and no, I don't think that anyone should read it, not by help by me anyways.

But then, it DOES feel wrong to throw it away, but that discomfort is still lesser than the discomfort of the thought of somone reading it.

116885 True. And like... if something is bad enough that I don't even want to write it down, because I don't want to offend someone with words like that, I prolly shouldn't feel bad about sparing anyone from reading it in the first place.
Aug 25, 2016 12:10AM

116885 Yeah, that is true. But still... in the trash?? It feels so wrong!

116885 I actually liked Interstellar, i'm usually not that big of a fan of space movies. But it was strange, maybe that was why I liked it, lol!

116885 Hope you'll get better soon Amanda, are the meds helping?

I should have been at the shooting range for work today, but my coughing is still bad enough that I have to take this ethylmorphine coughing syryp, so I called in to reschedule.

116885 If you have a book, not an E-book, and it is really bad, what do you do with it? It feels wrong to throw away a book, but then it feels even more wrong to give away a really bad book.

I read this book that was filled with racist language, and I just can't let anyone read it. Is this when you shred it to do artsy things with it? Or is some books just bad enough to get thrown away?

Suppose I could bring it to my grandma's cabin in the mountains to decorate the shelves, but then, someone might read it.

116885 I have this Harlequin I read like fifteen years ago that I can't come up with which it is.

A woman is riding a train towads her best friends wedding with her best friend and her fiancé. She tries her best friends ring on and then the train crashes and she loses her memory. The best friend and the fiancé dies and the MC is assumed to be the best friend, which means she gets to live with the fiancé's family, none have met her before. And she and the brother (? best friend?) of the fiancé falls deeply in love, but since she was about to get married to his brother (? best friend?) it is forbidden love.

Then she recovers her memory and they live HEA.

Any suggestions? Already gone through a couple of amnesia-love lists on GR without luck.

116885 Lena Lol, no it's not exactly like that. More like, you keep you eyes on th floor, and when you are pretty close to the neighbor you look up and meet their eyes for half a second (if that long!) and say Hi and then you look to the floor again. But I don't look out the peep hole, sorry! :D I know what like three of my five neighbors look like, and I lived here for a year.

But I loooove Welcome to Sweden! :D

116885 It's 4:17 am, I'm super tired, so much that my tears are flowing when I yawn... so. I will sleep. As soon as there's nothing new here or on Faceboo and I'm out of lives at Candy crush soda saga at the same time. Until then I'll just keep going in this insanely hurtful circle until it feels like I've got a ton of sand in my eyes. So healthy! :p

116885 @iain it sounds awful! :/ I'm afraid of mold now!

@LJ i find apartments better regarding neighbors. I say Hi to my neighbors when we meet in the stairway, but that's about it. If you have a house with a garden, you're almost expected to hamg out byvthe fence if the neighbor is outside as well, or just you're most expected to talk if you meet them. In apartments you barely say anything more than the necessary, and that ain't much! ;) but that might differ in other countries, of course.

116885 Lena, weeell, if we go by how I swipe on tinder, there are a lot more attractive women than men around here. :D there are some hot men as well (have you read the drunken review of Tarzan and Skarsgård's V? ), but mostly, women around here are more hot than the men! :)

Kim, it's waiting on you! ;)
