I'm looking for a daytime work now. But they're scarce in my company, and in changing type of work I'd cut my salary with at least 1/4, so for now I'm still here.I can't decide what to read... Luxury trouble, lol!
I work 6pm-6am as a security guard/receptionist. It's pretty nice, a lot less stressful than caretaking. But not as giving of course. I miss it sometimes, but well, it's pretty nice getting paid for like 10 hours of reading.
Kim, yes you must! You should love it. But I really would appreciate warmer weather though, my joints are killing me in this weather. I've already started with wrist warmers, will have them on 24/7 until june to prevent ache...
It has started here - tonight it's 14 C outside, and it's chilly both on mornings and in my apartment. This climate would suit you!
Kim, I hope you are better now!I haven't read for like a month. I've been watching two seasons of OITNB, two seasons of Hemlock Grove and I'm soon finished with the third season of Vampire Diaries...
Luckily I listened to some Music earlier today, and just wanted to keep listening, so now my Kindle is here with me, lol.
How are everyone else doing?
I thought about the book while watching "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" the other day.Jonathan and van Helsing had been staking Lucy and got back to the institution where they met Dr Seward, who asked van Helsing why he wasn't bloody at all when Jonathan was covered in blood. (van Helsin hid behind a pillar while Jonathan did the staking)and van HElsing answered
"It's all about location, location, location."
Had that line anything to do with the title?
You know this scene in Descpacable Me, where Gru walks by a kid crying over his dropped ice crem? When Gru makes the kid a baloon dog, the kid gets happy again.... And Gru takes a needle and pops it before walking on? In that particular scene, Gru is charming compared to Trev!Link to Gru scene.
But, despite that I can't stand Trev, I like it. Despite his faults he has one compromising thing, and that it his cynism, in combination with his sarcasm. But I can't stand how he treats Agatha, he is arrogant in ways I can't fathom and I just can't stand him. But, as I see that I'm kind of supposed to see all his faults I can manage. It's not like these books where the MC is awful and I'm supposed to like them.
And the story makes up for him. The story is interesting, the humor that is that dry kind of humor that I truly enjoy (even if it's sometimes to lng to put up on tumblr). I like the worldbuilding, and how it makes clear that Trev isn't our usual hero. And ok, there is one more pro of Trev, he differs from other heros in ways that are entertaining.
I've read halfway through, so far.
It's Me - Yvette wrote: "I am sad to report that my mom spoiled some things for me in future books. I admit that I don't like what she told me, so I am a bit hesitant about moving forward. But I will soldier on. "Oh, I understand. I'm working my way through the first book, and I'm not really sure how I'm going to respond to some events further in it, I've a lot more feministic now than I was the last time I read it, so it could be pretty off-putting later in the book I suspect. :/
