116885 Jessica, it can be like that with some books. Will you be watching the TV show?

116885 My grandmother asks me every time we meet if book eight wont be translated soon, now it's only about 11 months left, lol.

And Yvette, I'm in love as well, haha! But how can you keep yourself from reading the complete series? I wouldn't manage!

116885 I read the first five books or so like 8 years ago. I loved them. This were the times before e-books, so I remember how I dragged the heavy books to a vacation and there to and from the beach, lol!

Now I'm rereading it, started on Outlander tonight and now I'm disturbed by the oldschool degrading women, but since I really like the heroine I think I'll manage.

I'll watch the show, I'm a little worried that it'll be rushed, but they will probably manage it just fine. I hope, lol!

I fell deeply in love with Jamie last time I read it, so the series look promising in that, lol!

116885 We have already discussed music in series and here the music is a huge subject in the books. It's about a group of vamps in a rock radio station. Every chapter is named after a track title, and a lot of tracks are mentioned in the book.

I've just finished book one, Wicked Game, and the Spotify playlist I did for the book, including the chapter titles and music mentioned has 77 tracks. I've been listening to it for two days, haven't grew tired of it yet, lol!

Have you read it? Do you plan on doing it?

Have you other recs on books including lots and lots of music? And by music i mean good music, lol! :D

116885 Have you read the books? Will you be watching the series?

What did you like in the books?

Will the TV show do the books justice?

116885 Do that Jessica, I love how it is unconventional in how the supernatural isn't that perfect but have some drawbacks, that's not the usual ones. And how much space the music takes, love it!

116885 Hope you'll get better soon Kim!

I'm deep in GoT still... Started in on Wicked Game by Jeri Smith-Ready and I love it. I have read it before but I had forgotten just how great it is.

The regualar price for an e-book in Sweden is around 22$, if it's new it's about 30. So I find it pretty cheap, lol.

But to get on topic: I'm actually a little disapointed. It wasn't as funny as the others, and it din't have that much of a red thread of it's own, but felt like it was more to bind together threads of previous books to get it simpler for books to come? And not to much of a story in itself.
Book or dream? (7 new)

116885 Do you ever remember an event and have trouble deciding which book it came from.... only to get the thought in your head that it can be a dream?

I have had a couple of days thinking about this camera powered by a little something inside who superfast draw the picture when the operator pushes the button. And somehow the colour runs out and the creature come out to yell.

And I've been going though my library in my head, trying to decide where it came from, almost decided it must be a dream. Until a few minutes ago I got to think about The colour of magic by Pratchett, I read some chapters of it a couple of weeks ago. Googled and score!

Have this happened to you? What did you remember, how long did you have to think about it, which book was it?

116885 I have read all Spider book and I agree with you about how thay are being the same. I enjoyed the concept, but after lite four or three books it's just the same. But I would recommend the first and some more. But they won't change, so if you don't like the concept don't continue. The thing I loved most about that one is that the heroins is really strong and deadly. She doesn't need a strong alpha by her side and "be just as good but in a different, womanly, way" I see all to often.

I started on the Scent of Shadows but didn't got hooked so I put it down. Had some plans on picking it up again in a vacation next week. I actually thing about the events that happened now and then, so I don't really know why I put it down to begin with.

I haven't heard of The Taken.

Is it ok with a suggestion of my own in this thread? I had one I liked a lot some years ago I'd like to reread, it's a little connected to my Music-thread, ther eis a lot of music thrown into it. Wicked Game And ignore if it's not ok to put up my own suggestion. ;) It's about vamps though, but really different from regular vamp books.

116885 I'm almost halfway through and I like it. I like that it's so different from the usual UF, with the slow tempo and small stories told and mended to pieces of a bigger picture.

And a bit of spoiler: don't read if you haven't got the the route witches yet:

116885 Lol, that sounds epic! Screenshot please! :D

Yes, we should. I'm thinking of an tumblr-thread, more in the group should have tumblr-accounts, or know about great book-tumblr-blogs?
May 15, 2014 03:20PM

116885 BTW (and I know I'm off topic, but I'm pretty sure the threadauthor doesn't mind!), I have plans on printing my fav quote of Downside ghosts and put up somewhere on my work.
May 15, 2014 03:18PM

116885 Lol I would LOVE to see all of your highlights! :D
May 15, 2014 03:09PM

116885 Yes, and I wonder if I'm that uncommon, I mean people like me should be hired to do re-reads, but no? Why not, I would do great work on picking up those things!
May 15, 2014 03:03PM

116885 The window-story was true. I think it was Lauren Kate in one of the Fallen-books. And yes, I'm still annoyed like four years after. Lol!

The worst I don't remember which book, but they introduced a person. And then they changed his name. DID it confuse me or did it not? HOW can that not be noticied before the book is released?
May 15, 2014 02:32PM

116885 Can you stand it? I can't Ok, so thay are in a roome with only a tiny tiny window, a little more text about what they are doing in the room, and then they have to jump out of the window? Like whaaaat? Are they shrinking themselves to fit out of the window or what?

These small things that actually don't affect the story really irritates me. How about you? Can you just skip this small incoherencies and read the story?

And if you can't, which are your "best" stories?
