1166052 Tried another 'not my usual game' game. It's called Unpacking. I heard good things about it, looked crap to me, but thought I'd give it a go. Basically have to unpack boxes into your new house lol - put stuff away, arrange it, put it in the right place, and once you're done that house move is done and then you move onto the next house move several years later and do it all over again. It's actually a little nostalgic as time moves on so does the decor, the advancement of home technology etc. Done the 1990's and two moves in 2004 and 2007 - I think it was. And it's a relaxing chill game. I like it :-).
1166052 Morning all. Not played much of interest over the weekend. Played a bit of COD and BF2042 multiplayer. I thought i'd try something a bit out of my normal gaming taste and played Matchpoint lol. Let's just say I am really bad at this game. Even on the lowest difficulty setting I'm being mauled and then I tried one online game and managed to win one point the entire match. So that's the end of that. No wonder I gave up on FIFA about 15 years ago. FPS I'm fine with, anything sport related - in a video game at least - I'm terrible. Although years ago I did enjoy a bit of Tiger Woods - maybe I liked it because I could take my time.

Is that tovarus and hyperius? Yea they were tough. Can’t remember how I beat them but it took me several attempts. Think one of them I luckily cheesed as he was stuck in a room on a platform, he couldn’t hit me, and I kept on shooting him in the room as he couldn’t escape as I was constantly shooting him. More luck than by design. Other than this boss fight there was two others that were tough, one being the final boss but think that was the easiest of the three that I would classify as a little tough. All other boss fights I had no issue with. All doable on normal difficulties, especially if I can eventually do them albeit after a few deaths.
1166052 Sounds like my type of chill out game. I really like these short environmental puzzle games with good graphics and artwork. Played some good ones recently (Omno, The Gunk). Limbo and Inside are my favourites though at the mo - though I'm really looking forward to Somerville.

I think there is a new FPS out soon july 21st (think it's on games pass too) called Bright Memory:Infinite. So looks like that'll be my next game. Kept my eye on it for a while now.
1166052 I really like the look of Stray. I like a good atmospheric environmental puzzle game - almost looks like a 3D Inside kinda. I suppose I could play it on PS4 but want to wait - can't go back to 30fps. It might be a timed exclusive too so might be on xbox in 6 months-year.

Hope you feel better soon John. I don't think covid for the vast majority is that bad now unless you have other more serious medical conditions.

So glad it's cooler today. Fans everywhere in the house lol at the moment.
1166052 I'm not bothered about what the PS5 looks like, I think it looks OK alhough it's not a very practical design because it can't lay on its side without a seperate support to make sure it doesn't wobble - never understood why Sony would think this is a good idea. My main issue is the size of thing. It wouldn't fit in my TV cabinet.
1166052 Morning all. 40 degree heat in England lol. Over the weekend I completed The Gunk. A really good game. And it kept on getting more and more varied in the environments. Really enjoyed it - for me an 8/10. Great artwork and environments, good but never head scratching environmental puzzles, good characters and not bad story. And nicely chilled out. I was one achievement off getting them all - but it looks like that I've missed my opportunity to get that last achievement now. And no new game+. Next I guess Metro Exodus Sam's Story DLC.
1166052 Quiet around here recently. I forgot to mention that I watched the Uncharted movie at the weekend. It was enjoyable and watchable for sure. I liked the way they solved the environmental puzzle with the keys - that was a good representation of what might happen in the game. Some of the environments were like the game. And OK Uncharted the game is OTT with plane and car action/chasing sequences being unbelievable and in the movie it was very much completely OTT too. I just didn't like the actors playing Nate and Sully and their characters were a little off compared to the games - Nate needed to be older for me. And Nate was very knowledgeable but very naive (immature) at the same time. And Sully was almost borderline unlikeable as a person except more towards the end of the movie. And the story moved a bit way too fast for my liking - I would have preferred they grounded the characters a bit more - they seemed to be thrown at you, and then the movie moved at a wild pace. Decent enough Movie for what it is - 7/10 on the R-Score-O-Meter in its own right, but 5/10 for realising the game characters and story in a Movie.

Actually I think they did Chloe really well - best character in the movie compared to the game.
1166052 I'm more inclined too to get a PS5 slim. Not sure when they'll be out though as it seems chip supply is still greatly constrained. I would anticpate (based on previous generations) next year but perhaps they might be later due to chip shortages. I really don't like the appearance of the PS5, well more the size of it, so defo prefer a PS5 slim assuming they do actually slim it down rather than just cost reduce it.

I don't think they'll be any Pro consoles though this gen, although I could be wrong - PS4 Pro and XBox One X were more to do with the high adoption rate of 4k TVs more than anything else and to take advantage of them. And 8K TVs haven't really taken off as yet so I can't see Pro consoles happening myself for Series X and PS5. And I wouldn't buy them if they do. PS4 and One X were great for my 4k TV but a PS5 pro wouldn't give me much more than a boost in performance and probably a few graphical bells and whistles.
1166052 Hope you feel better soon Glass. If you experience it anything like me, if you've had three jabs, and it's most likely the omicron variant (not as severe as Delta) then it'll hopefully be a mild cold/flu for a week.

For me over the weekend I looked at Game Pass and decided to give 'The Gunk' a go. I've been mildly interested in it before - but looked like a one trick pony with the gunk vacuum. Anyway, turns out it's a little gem. Great graphics and artwork, environments, varied game play (it's not all about the gunk), good varied levels and really chilled out environmental puzzle, platforming and action adventure with great music. Really really good chilled out relaxing fun.
1166052 Yea I’m looking forward to MW2.
1166052 The 2019 game has a different campaign to the 2007 campaign. So related but not a remake. Same characters but not the same campaign.
1166052 So it's two games in one? Not sure I follow - hold on I google it :-).

Looks like a direct sequel to MW 2019 to me.
1166052 Is COD MW2 a remake? Thought it was a sequel to the 2018 MW?
1166052 Out of interest - maybe, maybe not. I keep a list of unplayed games I own/on-games-pass that I'd like to play and a list of wishlist games. Not sure if anyone else does this? It's what I use to replace the backlog - as in, not to buy games before I'm ready to play them.

Backlog:
Alan Wake DLC
Mass Effect Remastered (2, 3)
Metro Exodus Sam's Story
Lost in Random

Unfinished (maybe never finished):
Destroy All Humans
Assassins Creed Valhalla

Wishlist:
Stalker 2
Somerville
Stray
Atomic Heart
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Starfield
Scorn
Redfall
The Callisto Protocol
Dead Space Remake
Forza Motorsport
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil VIII
GoW Ragnorok
1166052 So nearly completed all the Alan Wake DLC. I forgot how clever The Writer DLC was what with rotating buildings and environments - only got 30 mins to go then I'm done. It's been great to revisit it though and defo still one of my favourite games of all time.

So I'm actually starting to struggle with games I want to play. I've got the Metro Exodus DLC campaigns to complete but other than that my wishlist is looking pretty sparse. Not much coming out of over the next couple of months either for me. So I guess it could be a return to Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Mass Effect 2 maybe - not sure. I still have AC Valhalla to complete but I kinda binned that off - after 30 hours I was tired of it and not even half way through the campaign even though I focussed on it.

Yea 30fps - I can't do it anymore. Going back is not pleasant.
1166052 I loved GoW. 9/10 for me and very much looking forward to Ragnorok. Although don't know when I'll play it, probably not anytime soon. It's got to be played on PS5 for me, don't think I'll be playing it on my PS4.
1166052 Morning all. Managed to game a little this weekend and finished Alan Wake The Signal DLC. Very very good. Not an easy DLC - struggled a little at times. Only The Writer DLC to go. Really looking forward to Alan Wake 2.

Decky. There is a house renovation sim game too. Got to be better than mowing.
1166052 Hi all. Finally completed Sniper Elite 5. Absolutely cracking game that I really enjoyed. The final mission was so good sniping through a bombed out city in ruins and on fire. Climbing a Bell Tower in the middle of the burned out city sniping loads of Nazis. I even killed my high priority target from the bell tower several hundred metres away as he walked past a window in the Nazi headquartes - so satisfying. And then it finishes in an underground sub facility. Such a great and varied mission. Story wise pretty basic but for open map design, atmosphere and game play it's so good. Anyway on to my next game - maybe the Metro Exodus DLC. We'll see.
1166052 I tell you what I'm really looking forward to in terms of side scrollers - Somerville: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcjnH.... Some of the same people, different company however, that did Limbo and Inside. Loved those games.
