1166052 I tell you what I'm really looking forward to in terms of side scrollers - Somerville: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcjnH.... Some of the same people, different company however, that did Limbo and Inside. Loved those games.
1166052 Yea I'm the same I generally don't mind remasters and remakes - I prefer remakes as they tend to have more of an upgrade. I'm interested by all of the announced remakes TLOU1, Dead Space and Resi 4. I loved the first two and love to replay them in crisp 4k 60fps with better textures and models etc. At the right price however - full price for these ramakes IMO is too much. OK. They are remakes but the basis of the game's design is already done - so it's taking the skeleton of the first game and fleshing it to be more modern. Surely much cheaper and quicker than making an entirely new game from scratch. Resi 4 I have played before to a point - and I loved the atmosphere and the setting - but I didn't get on with the controls, movement and shooting mechanics - so I hope a remake would "fix" a lot of that. Some say that was part of the games charm - for me it ruined the experience. Plus I really really struggled with ammo - please add a 'more ammo' option too :-). Control did it kinda and the Metro games :-).

Yea I don’t disagree at all. It’s not needed especially after remastering it for PS4. I think if they sold the PS5 version for a more reasonable price I’d be more ok with it. Still it’s a good game and I haven’t played it since PS3 so I’d like to play it again. And I loved TLOU2 so would like to play that again on PS5 at 60fps.

I’ve got my series X for increased frame rates for last gen games. I don’t need a PS5 to do the same. Nothing much PS exclusive wise I haven’t played that I want to play other than Ghosts of Tsushima, Death Stranding and any future exclusives that interest me. I am keen to replay the TLOU 1 remake on PS5 but no way I’m paying £70 for it - so I’d get it when the price drops. I’d love to replay both TLOU 1 and 2 back to back on PS5. That would be an epic experience.
1166052 Sony offered me a PS5 purchase but I declined. Can't justify it at the moment. I've been looking at the new PS Plus tiers - the extra level with the including games catologue like Games Pass - and all I could see that I want to play of the PS5 games (or PS4 games with PS5 upgrades) is Ghosts of Tsushima and then I'd probably give Demons Souls remake a go (for a laugh but maybe too hard for me) and Death Stranding (as I usually like Kojima games but Death Stranding maybe too much of a dull game considering it's length). So I can't really justify a PS5. Plus there'll be a slim at some point and I hope it's much smaller than the current PS5 monstrosity. I have zero interest in Returnal and the new Horizon game. God of War Ragnarok though I want bad so that could be the breaking point assuming I can find a PS5.
1166052 I liked FC6 Glass. It’s more of the same - don’t expect anything much changed - but it has none of this alternate reality errie ghostly world campaign mission stuff in it. So it feels more grounded to me than FC5. And I prefer the map as it’s a bit more FC3 like in terms of tropical islands. I also prefer the bad guy in FC6. One thing I would recommend is turning of the drug effects - as the game has a drug in it that affects your senses which is annoying for me. There is a setting to turn it off. I never played the DLC as I didn’t rate the FC5 DLC.

In terms of console power. It’s ok - I don’t think it really pushes next gen consoles. It’s dynamic 4K 60fps but same old engine. Environments look good.
1166052 Hi everyone. Finished one more mission on Sniper Elite 5 which took me 3 hours. And I died a lot but had a lot of fun and such a great map. Only one more mission to go. Also played more of the new Battlefield 2042 season one map - only if they'd made all the maps in BF2042 this good, but they didn't. Only decent map in the game when in previous Battlefields nearly all maps were decent.
1166052 Yea I liked the MW3 campaign - I remember the suburban levels I really liked. The multiplayer wasn't that good - I remember particularly disliking it.

As for my gaming recently I've not played any single player stuff for over a week now - my weekend was very busy with non gaming stuff. Although I did play the new Battlefield 2042 season one map. It's good - a vast improvement over all the boring bland and wide open maps from launch. However, one new map after 7 months - it's a joke lol. EA and DICE go from saying yea we'll fully fix the broken mess and support the game with new content and then the first season comes and one new map and two new guns. Absolute joke.
1166052 Yea can't say I'm that excited by MW2. I'll get it - I always do. I think it will be a decent COD but I haven't really been completely absorbed by a COD since the days of MW1, MW2 and World at War - those to me are the classic CODs. I guess it's long in the tooth now and so the excitement level has dropped for me but it's defo still one of the best multiplayers out there. Campaign wise - since the classic days - it's been a mixed bag of good, bad and mediocre. Vanguard single player was definitely bad. The reboot MW campaign was decent but the multiplayer albeit good wasn't amazing for me. I liked the Vanguard MP - much better than WW2 MP. Blops 4 was good too.
1166052 XBox showcase for me was mediocre. As was the PS State of Play. Some good third-parties coming such as the Callisto Protocol, RE4 Remake. Don't know why the Last of Us Part 1 PS5 remake exists. I thought RedFall, Forza Motorsport and Starfield looked good but we've known about those for years. Nothing much else that interested me.

It wasn't as good as I made out. I had leave booked too. So although I only took 3 days off work, I was ill another couple of days into my leave. And then it took me another week on top to feel back to normal again. So I felt ill (temperature, sore throat, cough, no energy) for around 5 days but coughing up lung oysters and feeling a little tired when doing exercise for a further week. So probably two weeks in all and only 5 days when I felt like real crap.

Did you have your three jabs?

The Halo Infinite campaign is a cracker. I really enjoyed it. Try to explore everywhere as there are a fair few things tucked away. You can pretty much go anywhere, there are few barriers. Especially when you get access to flying vehicles. And the grapple works pretty much anywhere too.

Yea I’m going to give it a bit more time. The battles were ok but I found them a bit laborious. Unless I’m not getting it - it’s not my usual type of game - but you have to knock dots off enemy to charge up your dice to use battle cards. And battle cards are the only way to wear down enemy health bars. When I was being followed by half a dozen enemy, turning to shoot to collect dots, it just got a bit silly for me. Considering it’s not a short game unless I like it soon I will be binning it off. Artwork and environments are great though.
1166052 Well I had 90 mins to kill last night which wasn't enough time to complete a mission on Sniper Elite 5. So I heard lots of good things about Lost in Random. Not sure if it's for me. The artwork is truly superb and the world very atmospheric but not sure about the game play. Collecting dice dots to fill up your dice so you can use battle cards linked to the side of the dice to defeat enemies - I think that's how it works. It got a bit tiresome after a while. It's not turn based either so it seemed a bit weird to me. I mean it's not bad just not sure it's my bag. Plus the dialogue is too long and frequent - constantly going through text conversations isn't my thing either. Fine in Mass Effect but this just seems a lot more. I'll play some more and see if it sticks.
1166052 Hi all. Over Covid now - well over a week ago - and have been playing Sniper Elite 5. Done the first six missions and love it. Really is a underrated gem Sniper Elite. Having a wide open different map for each mission which you can approach in any way you see fit makes it my type of game. Looks pretty nice too. Only have two more missions to go. And each mission takes a good two hours if you complete every objective so it's a pretty meaty game. I really like the infiltration multiplayer mode where someone can invade your game and look to take you out if they're good enough. I've invaded a couple of games myself and it's great seeing someone playing their campaign mission and you take them out - very satisfying.

I felt like shit Ron. I was off work for three days and although I’m over the fever, cough and headache - thinking that’s covid done - I now feel like I’m out of energy, any task feels like a real effort and I’m out of energy quickly, and I’ve lost my sense of taste. Still, I think I got off lightly. Sorry to hear you have it and hope you power through it soon.

Gaming wise I started Sniper Elite 5 yesterday. I love Sniper Elite and 5 is more of the same but a bit shinier. I just love the sandbox maps and that any approach goes. And even the multiplayer is fun too and a totally slow paced affair which makes a change. Perfect game for me on games pass and on day one saving me a pretty penny.

No nothing serious. I don’t think covid is that serious for vaccinated people and without any immune systems issues. Yea I’ve got no chance of my missus feeling responsible and buying me a game lol.
1166052 Hi all. Well I finally succumbed to my first case of Covid. Managed to dodge it for all this time but the missus went to a wedding and brought it back with her. Thanks. Feeling grotty but I’ll survive. At the weekend though before testing positive I played Omno which I really liked. A platform environmental puzzler with great artwork. Turned out it was an easy 1000g gamer score but didn’t realise this until I started to play it. Made a nice change to play something a little different to the usual shooter based game.
1166052 I think I played Gone Home too. Obviously didn't stick in my memory.
1166052 Yea Edith Finch. Was a superb walking sim.
