You’re about a tad over half way through.
1166052 Morning all. Welcome back AG. Looks like there are quite a few of us playing Ragnarok at the moment. I've played another 3-4 hours over the weekend. Still really enjoying it. Got to Ironwood and the graphics there in 4k on PS5 are insane. I have noticed there is a bit more down time in Ragnarok compared to the last GoW which I don't mind - certainly breaks up the intense combat.

Also started High on Life on gamespass. I nearly binned it off as the constant one-liners got a bit much especially when in some cases you have to listen before progressing on. However, I gave it a chance and the combat is quite fun and the environments open up. A mixture of gun play, melee, platforming and simple environmental puzzle solving. My kinda thing. The comedy is constant and is hit or miss. Sometimes funny, sometimes coarse and a bit dated, and sometimes I just ignore it. It's OK, worth playing on games pass. 6-7/10 maybe so far.
1166052 Morning all. Started Ragnarok over the weekend. Probably a good 5-6 hours in and got to the more open area. And I've been taken on a wild wide into the caves and across waters. Also got side tracked by a really good side quest. Combat has been good but I'm not much for remembering combos so I tend to stick to a few moves that I like and that seem effective. So far so good. Really good graphics on PS5 especially when I first hit the open map with the lake - definitely a wow moment. Loving it so far. And a fair few boss fights and mini bosses already.

Yea I think ME remastered are for the PS4 but back compatible on PS5.
1166052 I just watched ACG's review of Biomutant. Actually looks alright - he describes it as a 'zen game' meaning you've got lots of down time between battles. And the open world is good if a little sparse. I've added it to my library, save it for a new release drought. Mass Effect 1/2/3 remastered is also a good PS+ freebie. I played the remastered version on games pass but now have the choice of playing 2/3 on PS5. I tell you PS+ games are sooo much better than games with gold games.
1166052 Welcome back Bauer. I'm playing MW2 but playing like I'm an old man with crap reactions :-). Barely maintaining a 1:1 K/D.

So I gamed a lot this weekend. Completed A Plague Tale Requiem and have to say I really enjoyed it. Highly polished and enjoyable game with really amazing graphics, environments, characters, story and with game play that's relatively chilled. For me no where near as frustating when compared to the first game and the final mission no frustration to be seen at all lol. It's a possible 10/10 for me. Trying to fault it but can't.

I also completed Somerville. I really enjoyed it - definitely along the lines of Limbo and Inside - but unfortunately no where no near as polished. Great artwork and environments, easy game play and puzzles but engaging, but had issues of screen tearing and lack of polish with character glitching/snagging on environmental objects. Only about 3-4 hours long but I enjoyed it bar the techincal issues. 7/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Could have been 9/10 with more polish. I even got full gamerscore - aka a MS plat ;-).

Next God of War Ragnarok :-).
1166052 I loved God of War 2018. Can't remember what I said at the time, but it was defo one of my favourite games of the generation. Masterpiece I'm not sure, but not far off for me. Everything about it was so well crafted - it was difficult to fault anything.

So gaming wise I'm three missions off the end of A Plague Tale Requiem - another beautifully crafted game ;-). Then on to Somerville. Actually getting a massive backlog now which I've not had in a while. So much to play on Games Pass. Insurgency Sandstorm is on there now, as is Warhammer Darktide (which is only PC currently but I expect Xbox will hopefully follow).
1166052 I'm interested in Evil West - been watching some youtube reviews - it looks like a cross between Doom and Zombie Army Trilogy but my backlog is actually massive now so it's a either a play on games pass (if it ever goes on) or a deep deep sale (as ACG would say). Same with The Entropy Centre - which does look right up my street. I'm hopefully going to finish A Plague Tale in the next week so next I'm onto Somerville next (on games pass) and then it will be probably Ragnarok. Next year is looking immense tough - High on Life (later this year), Atomic Heart, Starfield, Redfall - all on games pass too. Although I do think some of these will slip until later in the year. This is why I don't need PS+ Extra - too many games lol.

I was surprised considering I was starting from level 0, and with my mates being pretty much maxed out (so they told me) when we co-op'd together I didn't feel underpowered. I think for them they probably felt over-powered but we had fun. I won't be sinking any time into it on my own (well, maybe a little but the backlog is getting quite long now) so just a game to play with mates.
1166052 Lots of gaming for me at the weekend. Completed another 4 chapters on a Plague Tale Requiem - on chapter 12 now. It's a very very good game - the amount of polish in this game is up there with Naughty Dog. The graphics, game play, characters, the world they've built is all superb. One of the best games of this year and very close to a 10/10 for me. I'm suprised the devs treat this as a AA game with a AA price (£50) as it's a really long campaign and so well crafted. Should be full price. And strangely I gamed with my old gaming mates this weekend for the first time in around five years. Seems I have been missed lol. So played a lot of Warframe in CO-OP which suprised me how good it is. Amazing graphics on PS5, and good solid missions and even really big open world areas. It's very much like a cross between Destiny and Mass Effect (without the story and RPG side). Really enjoying it albeit it's such a confusing complex game.
1166052 I've extended my PS+ essential sub for another year (to October 24) in the black friday sale. List price was £37.99 I think it was but I earned a free PS rewards point free £5 voucher recently, bought a £35 PSN voucher off shopto.net for £30.85. So extended for 12 months for £30.85 with a couple of quid free left over. Nay bad. I'm not going extra as I have a games pass sub and can only play so much - one day something will come on essential that'll want to make me bite I'm sure. Only thing I want to play is Sack Boy Adventures really as I already have Ragnarok and getting TLOU1 remake for crimbo.

Yes it does from the extra and premium tiers. I think they give you a bit of advance warning. Generally I've not had a problem - I prioritise 'the-must-play' subscriptions games over paid games so I don't run the risk of missing out.
1166052 Equinox80 wrote: "In the PS store PS+ sale, it looks like if I pay £22.21 I can upgrade to PS+ Extra for the remainder of my PS+ sub (317 days).

Not sure if I'm reading that right but seems a little too good to be ..."

Best way to check is to look at the games included at the moment. I had it for one month and played Miles Morales, Stray and Ghost of Tushima and it was well worth it. All depends. For me it's worth it if you play games you want to play and enough of them to justify for the cost. As I'm mainly games pass for me it saves me literally hundreds each year.

BTW - if you want to save even more buy a PSN voucher off cdkeys.com or shopto.net and you save a few extra quid.
1166052 I have Syndicate and Unity in my backlog - for many many years. I'm kinda turned off AC after Valhalla - which became a massive slog. Although Syndicate is the old school AC so probably better for me.
1166052 Yea I played and completed it too. I enjoyed it at the time but one of those games once done I feel I don't need to go back and play any sequels so never played Shadow of War.

I see Somerville is out on Games Pass - from one of the creators of Inside and Limbo. Looks amazing atmosphere wise but it's getting less than stellar reviews. 6-7/10.
1166052 Yea like Phil said PS4 games on PS5 will be the PS4 Pro version on the whole. And where PS4 games have unlocked frame rates and resolution scaling on PS4 they will be performing better on PS5 - resolutions and frame-rate achieving the highest limit. Some games for PS4 have free PS5 upgrades - there is probably a list somehwere - but for example TLOU2 has a PS5 patch so it runs at 60FPS (compared to 30fps on PS4). This is just a game update so you'll get it without doing anything other than a game update. I think some other exclusives have the same kind of PS5 patches. I'd check on WRC 10 - some games have the PS5 and PS4 version and I think you might be able to download the other - there is usually a selector in the PS store for a game for the PS5 or PS4 version. Depends on how they do it - free or paid upgrade.
1166052 Glad to hear you got your PS5 and liking it. Yea the UI is nice and slick but I think I preferred the PS4 UI but the extra UI speed is a must. Plus on a 4K TV the PS5 UI looks nice as it's HDR too. I miss the news feed on the PS4 and it was defo more intuitive - I still can't get used to the bottom menu and the reversal of the home button long press.

Gaming wise I've been playing more Hot Wheels Unleashed (really enjoying it and it looks nice), I bought Battlefield V on PS5 (PS4 version in a sale for less than £9) and so been playing some MP on that. And more MW2 MP which I seem to be getting a little better at (but only marginally better). I spent a good 4-5 hours on A Plague Tale Requiem, now on Chapter 8, and really enjoying it. Not too many sticky moments so far. Boy does this look graphically nice - I think it may be one of the best graphical games I've ever seen.
1166052 Yea I bagged the same SSD deal. Thanks to your post a while back. Yea I’m nearly full on my 1TB SSD but have only one game on the internal storage. I think it’s doable, not too irritating, to move games around from an external HDD. I did if for a few months on my Series X with an external SSD on usb and was pretty quick.
1166052 You'll probably still notice better graphics as they'll be downscaled from 4k making it at least sharper plus better graphical enhancements - but yea next purchase has surely got to be a 4k TV. Maybe a christmas pressie from the missus ;-). Haptic feedback is good - Astro's Playroom is amazing for haptic feedback and a really good game (free). I wouldn't say haptic feedback is widely used on the games I've played but the haptics generally in the dual sense are way more precise than last gen, making everything feel subtle rather than a default strong rumble. I like the dual sense - probably the best controller now except for battery life which is touching on poor. I probably get 6-7 hours, compared to 40+ on my XBox controller.
1166052 You won't want to go back to last gen main reason being load times. Whenever I switch on my PS4 Pro or One X (which is rare) everything is so slow, I mean really slow in comparison. Plus PS5/Series X they are backwards compatible so no reason to go back really. I use my One X for watching videos (I've purchased on the MS Store) on the non-gaming TV. Honestly, boot-up, menu navigation, apps starting on my One X/PS4 - don't know how I put up with it ;-).
