No, and he still never sent me his old ps4-pro. He said he would!! lol"That’s what ended the first version of this forum. Only if you would had said yes to that Pro lol.

Hi Bauer. Welcome back :-).
Yea you wouldn't think it's been 10 years. Strange to think back to those days when I spent far far too long on the Amazon forum and getting into 'arguments' with Evil lol. Not so much Wayne or Astro. And quite often I'd have arguments with Nessy too but at the same time I got along with him. I remember spending nearly all day on the forum at work - I'm surprised I was never sacked. Glad to say I spend far less time on this forum. I think I started posting in 2008 - something like that, so 15 years lol. And just when we thought this forum (or its predecessor) was all calm and non-confrontational a certain someone deleted it. A bit of a reminder of the good ole days.
One thing that Evil was right about though 360 was better than PS3 ;-).

Ratchet and Clank A Rift Apart and Humanity coming to PS Plus extra in May. The backlog is growing.

120hz is twice higher frame rate than 60hz. Makes games run ultra smooth and very responsive. It’s noticeably smoother for games that support it. This gen however 120hz does come at the expense of lower resolution so visuals usually appear softer in 120hz. Usually 120hz is best for multiplayer.
VRR is variable refresh rate. When games don’t have a consistent frame rate and fluctuate for example in a range of 40fps to 60fps then the game suffers from stutter and screen tearing as the TV is fixed at 60fps. VRR allows the TV to match the fluctuating frame rate of the game removing screen tear and reducing stutter.

One of the reason why I changed my TV due to a previous low peak brightness HDR. Saying that still looked better in HDR compared to SDR.

Oh I love HDR. I changed my TV because of it (well, partially the reason) as my previous TV didn't do it well. It makes images even more crisp as it highlights details which you wouldn't otherwise see with a lower dynamic range.

I forgot to mention HDR is completely broken for Jedi Survivor on PS5. When I first started the game is was basically a near black screen - couldn't see anything. I had to google for a fix which was to ramp up all HDR settings on PS5 to max and then in game set all HDR settings to near lowest. Basically nonsensical settings - but at least I can see it now.

I agree Deckard it's nailed the vibe for sure. I've got no complaints about the world in terms of actual impressive environments but it's just at the expense of smooth game play and crisp resolution. Jedi Fallen Order on PS4 had a higher resolution. I honestly think it's because they've turned up the graphical bells and whistles for ray tracing which kills performance and resolution on consoles - same happens in other games - but with Survivor there is no option to turn RT off. I'm enjoying the game a lot other than my complaints. I am tempted to pause my play through a month or so to see if patches improve the performance. I can't see them adding a none RT mode now and increasing resolution - seems a step too far in terms of expectations post launch.

Even in resolution mode it looks very soft. It’s a strange game because it kinda looks nice but you’re seeing it through smudged spectacles.

Hi all. Started Jedi Survivor. Played about 4 hours. In terms of enjoyment I’m loving it. Great atmospheric world with lots of detail in terms of vistas and vehicles flying around in the opening level making it feel like Star Wars. Game play is good with the combat, platforming, wall running and exploration. I just can’t believe they’ve opted to force ray tracing, rather than having it as an option, at the expense and I mean real expense of resolution and frame rate. In performance mode it’s 40-50fps fluctuating constantly making it very stuttery. I have to turn on VRR to cope with the stutter but it doesn’t completely fix it. And the resolution is very soft and apparently is sub 720p which is like going back two generations of console. There is a lot of detail in the world in terms of artwork and objects but it’s all blurry. So I love the game but it’s a real mixed bag graphically.

I’ve gone and pulled the trigger on Jedi Survivor. £57 after buying reduced price vouchers on cdkeys and a £5 voucher earned with PlayStation stars rewards. Only game that’s got me excited for a while.

I can't believe Jedi Survivor is only 720p on Series X/PS5 in performance mode. By all accounts it still looks good but 720p.
I see Redfall has been receiving some pretty mediocre reviews. It's put me off, however I watched some game play videos last night - of gamers playing after launch not the promotional videos - and to me it looks pretty good. Looks like a very atmospheric game. I'm still going to wait for the 60fps patch though before I try, and after a few patches to sort out the reported issues.

I finally completed Kena Bridge of Spirits. Actually a really good game. Great graphics and artwork. Varied world. Lots of combat options that work intuitively. Lots of well implemented environmental puzzle solving especially in the latter half of the game. And loads of really excellently done boss fights and I don’t normally like boss fights but these were well done. Clearly a lot of love and care was put into this game. It’s defo an 8.5 or even a 9/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Have to give it 2 or 3 hours to really let it shine and the more you play the better the game becomes. Only quibble is the cutesy aspect but that’s more a taste thing. The story isn't the greatest but I'll give it a pass as otherwise the game is very polished for a AA game.
No idea what I’m playing next.

I'm very tempted by Jedi Survivor. I really enjoyed the first game and this looks a decent step up in terms of polish (fast travel points, better maps, more varied environments, more weapons, more everything that was half-arsed done in the first game such as collectables). I find it hard to part with £60 for a game nowadays when I know it will drop in price and will be on EA play in 12 months for free. So tempted though.

Yea it's nothing super special, and nothing really new, but it's a polished game. I must admit I nearly gave up after 30 mins as it is a bit cutesy for me but I gave it time and I really started to enjoy the world, at least graphically - it's a nice looking world. I think I've lost my gaming mojo a bit recently so nothing is really getting me that excited to turn on my consoles (ooo err missus). I tend to play when I'm bored at the moment. It happens though, and I'm sure I'll get my gaming mojo back.

Morning all. Not much gaming for me at the weekend but I have started Kena Bridge of Spirits. Enjoying it so far. Lovely looking openworld - especially artwork and graphics wise - but there are quite a few cutesy characters that aren't my thing really but as I'm enjoying it so much I tend to ignore them. The combat is solid and a fair few boss fights. Some platforming too and easy-ish environment puzzles. I did really like some of the exploration and combat in a tree village. Good game so far.

Morning all. Finally completed Horizon Forbidden West. Really enjoyed it and thought it was better than the first (mainly in campaign missions being more enjoyable). Probably an 8.5/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Also played another codex quest on Warframe which I found frustrating mainly due to not knowing what the game wanted me to do next (at times). I was going to play either Ghostwire Tokyo or Biomutant next but after watching game play videos neither really got me excited so instead I think I'm going to play Kena Bridge of Spirits which looks pretty good to me. And after that probably Mafia 1. Redfall is out soon too but no 60fps mode - so not playing that on release as I find 30fps quite jarring nowadays. I believe the 60fps will be added sometime after release. Saying that I might suffer 30fps for Mafia 1, we'll see.

Hi all. I've not been gaming much recently. Over the easter weekend I probably played a total of 5 hours and nearly all on Horizon Forbidden West. Although I did make a lot of progress. I'm near the end of the campaign, only two more missions to go. I've enjoyed this Horizon a lot more than the first. The campaign is much more focussed - no padding, no never ending missions fighting one bot after another after another and generally kept me engaged. It suffers from some strange choices in mechanics - when being knocked over it takes several seconds to get back up which I find frustrating and I'm always getting stuck on the environment - but those niggles aside a good game. Hope to finish it at the weekend and then no idea what I'm playing before Redfall in May. Thinking either Biomutant or Mafia 1 remastered.

Mullet guys, come on.
I've not heard much about Roblox but I know JackFrags recently played a COD clone in Roblox which was impressive. So I think it's a platform where people can create their own games - some quite sophisticated like what you'd see in a AAA game but anyone can be a creator. So in that case anything goes in terms of game type. Whether it's suitable for children I've no idea.
