Hi all. I didn't game much at the weekend. I spent 90 mins on TLOU pt 1 and got through some of the Bill's Town missions and I also played some Warframe with mates. Saturday I went out and got a bit pissed and then Sunday paid the price :-).

PS Stars is pretty tight. I can earn £11 per month on MS Points without buying anything. I'm level 3 on PS Stars but only because I've spent some money on games on the PS Store. Earned £5 so far.

Morning all. Hope you had a good weekend. Lots of gaming for me at the weekend. More High on Life and just getting into the latter half of the game. It's good fun and I'm enjoying it a lot more but felt the itch of new games. Also started Sackboy and nearly through two worlds. Really enjoying it, it's typically LBP fun with a few more 3D levels. And I've made the cardinal sin of gaming and have a third game on the go at the same time. Also started TLOU pt1 and just got through the Capitol building. Absolutely loving playing through TLOU again. It looks amazing and everything about it pulls you right into the world - the environments, the characters, the story, the atmosphere and it feels like an amazing journey. I've forgotten a lot about the game - the details and missions - having last played it back on PS3 but completely re-hooked on it. So the way I see it LBP is just a bit of fun for a couple of levels every now and again, and High on Life a bounty at a time and TLOU pt1 my main game. So I think having three games on the go should be OK ;-).

I think my first ever plat (and I've only got 7) is Killzone 3 multiplayer. Achieved by default :-). How I miss Killzone multiplayer :-). Give me KZ MP over Horizon any time.

Yea I won't be platting it ;-). I'm not not much of a trophy hunter. Unless I unexpectedly unlock most of them and then if the plat doesn't take too much additional effort. Probably unlikely. I think I'm two or three trophies off platting Far Cry Primal - by default - but worked out getting the remaining trophies would take many hours of grinding so not for me.

The last boss in A Plague Tale Innocence is a pain. It took me multiple attempts. The second game doesn't have any frustrating moments really, and honestly it's a much better game and the first game is pretty good.
So I've bought a game in the PS Store January Sale. Thought I'd go for Sackboy A Big Adventure at £25. I've been keeping an eye on prices for such an old game but it's kinda sticky high so £25 seemed pretty good. I've played all the previous Little Big Planet games (even the Vita one) and really enjoyed them and I've read Sackboy is pretty good too. My backlog is growing: High on Life, Sackboy, TLOU Pt 1, possible play of Biomutant and Atomic Heart is out soon too. Defo finishing High on Life first then it's either TLOU pt1 or Sackboy.

I don't know about you Hancock but in the evenings especially in winter I'm pretty sedentary. By default I binge watch in the evenings :-) .

I much prefer to binge watch as then it's all fresh in my memory and sometimes an episode doesn't progress the story much and watching two-three episodes back-to-back feels more worthwhile and engaging. When I say binge watch - TLOU is nine episodes and I'll probably watch it over 3-4 nights. I recently watched Severance over three nights and loved it. Totally absorbed by it for those three nights. In the evening I'd only be watching TV/Movie/Youtube anyway so to binge a show over a few nights for me I enjoy my evening viewing more.
If anyone wants any recommendations I highly recommend 1899 on Netflix (Dark on Netflix by the same people is even better and one of the best TV shows of all time IMO) and Severance on Apple TV. I recently watched Invasion on Apple TV which I read before watching wasn't that great but I really enjoyed it. One other show which I really enjoyed, which is currently on Disney plus, is Devs - superb show.
BTW - I've got free subs to Disney+ (missus got a free sub for a year with a new phone) and Apple TV+ (free 3 months sub with game pass ultimate). I don't subscribe to everything :-).

Not yet but I will once they're all available. I plan to binge watch all in one month - I'll sub just for one month solely to watch TLOU.

Hi all. Hope you had a good weekend. Glad to hear you're enjoying A Plague Tale Equinox - the sequel is even better if and when you get around to it.
For me I finally completed the campaign of GoW Ragnarok. Lots of boss battles in the last chapter or two. And meh they were OK. The ending felt like a bit of a grind to me. I was kinda expecting an epic boss battle where you climb on a massive boss and work your way around defeating him on an epic scale - but no, just grinding down health bar after health bar in closed arenas for what seemed like several back-to-back boss fights. And then a final part to wrap everything up that made me cringe but I won't spoil it if you haven't played the game yet. Overall Ragnarok either didn't float my boat and/or I wasn't in the mood for it for like the past several weeks. And considering I loved the first one so much I'm surprised. 8/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Not sure I'd play another GoW game unless they revamp it a bit for PS5. I've not started anything else yet. I'll probably continue with High on Life and then I think it's either TLOU Pt 1 or Biomutant.

Plague Tale isn't a walking sim. ;-) It's a stealth game and does have combat - with the sling/catapult thingy, and fire etc. Innocence does have some sticky moments though, at least I thought so. Not many just a couple. Requiem for me at least didn't have many sticky moments - just one for me, but I must admit probably my own fault using all of my resources on nowt beforehand. Requiem has open parts, the graphics are amazing (some of the best of this gen so far) and in terms of story and polish up there with Naughty Dog.
Now Edith Finch is a walking sim with some very very occasional but limited game play. Best walking sim ever though is Firewatch.

I've not played Guardians but I have played A Plague Tale: Innocence. I loved it but I know a certain someone on the forum is not so keen on the game ;-). Actually the second game Requiem is even better and one of my games of last year and is in a lot of best game of the year nominations for 2022 for various industry awards etc.

Ha ha. Yes but only the easy ones of games I intend to play, or ones I'm close to getting by default ;-). Actually just platted it in my lunch break - literally took me 30 mins. Reminded me how good this game is, as an experience more than game play.

Although it doesn't auto pop trophies you don't have to repeat the story - so complete one chapter and the campaign completion trophy pops without needing to replay everything. And then it's just a case of getting the missable trophies but you can restart any chapter to cherry pick them. Looks like a very quick plat :-).

I didn’t think Edith Finch had a Plat? I got 100% but no plat ☹️.
Ooo it might have patched with a platinum since I played it years ago. I’ll have to check. Free plat for someone that doesn’t go for plats 😀.
So looks like there is now a PS5 version of the game, with a plat, and although you transfer across the save it doesn't auto-pop trophies.

Happy new year Glass.
I recently dropped the difficulty on Ragnarok to the easiest too. It was becoming a real chore on higher difficulties. Fortunately the mid boss fight checkpoints do make the game more forgiving. I completed two more missions at the weekend so only two to go now to complete the story. Then I’m done. Big if - I might return to the game one day to play some of the side content.
More Warframe story missions for me at the weekend too - the game is a lot better than I was expecting. Competes - almost, but not quite - with Destiny. Really enjoying it though.

I rarely game in the week due to work but last night I thought I'd game and played some High on Life. I think I underestimated this game as I had a lot of fun. The boss fights are really well done and getting a new weapon after every boss fight with new abilities keeps it fresh - last night a time slowing bubble can be fired with the lastest weapon I got. And of course all the weapons talk to you which is bizzare, sometimes annoying but can be funny too at times. After feeling burned out a little with Ragnarok playing High on Life was just the game I needed.

I think the loading screens on PS5 could be much shorter or even removed but there is a lot of dialogue in them so I think they had to keep them regardless. It's also all the narrow passages between areas - again, only needed for PS4 I think for loading. They serve no real purpose - I read they have these to break up the game to give the player a break but i don't believe it.

Yea those sigil puzzles lining them up is not fun lol. And they're overused in certain levels. As I'm more or less main-lining the story I've not really explored. I think once I reach the end of the campaign I can't see me doing side-quests etc, unless I take a long break and return to it with a bit of freshness. I've already put in 20+ hours and by the time I complete it it will be more like 30+ hours and by that point I'm pretty sure I would have had my fill of the game. I loved the first GoW (of the reimagined series) but this one it's just good, not great. I do feel as well this game is held back a little - there are a lot invisible barriers and far too many corridors to get from A to B (like disguised loading screens) and to me I feel this much more now than before (perhaps I was more forgiving of this on PS4). Needs another next-gen reboot :-). The graphics are a mixed bag too - sometime amazing looking, and then other times quite soft and lacking detail. I guess it must be resolution scaling.

Hi all. Hope you had a good crimbo and new year. I was off since the 22nd and returned to work today :-(. I gamed quite a bit except for the last few days. I still haven't finished Ragnarok. I think I have another 4 missions to go. It's quite a long game. Strangely I'm not enjoying Ragnarok as much as I thought I would. I mean it's still a very good game but - and even though this game has more open parts, more variety etc - I'm finding it a bit of a bind. I completely agree about the combat - it's clunky. Why I didn't experience this in the first game I don't know. I was in a boss fight yesterday (massive dog/wolf, is it Gaum?) and a mini-boss before him and I honestly felt like the controls were either not responding or had some kind of clunky delay. I find it a bind to even run away or dodge attacks. I've even had a couple of bugs where I've had to go back to the previous checkpoint (which I never had in the first game) where I was stuck and couldn't move. I'm also finding the campaign a little underwhelming and not very engaging - feels like I'm doing things for the sake of doing them sometimes (like padding). And I hate some of the puzzling - if I never have to do another sigil gears puzzle again I'll be a happy man. I'm sure they weren't in the first game. In my last mission I had to do three of them back-to-back pretty much. Anyway, still a very good game but yea probably a 7.5-8/10 for me too. Also been playing Warframe with mates and been getting into it. As it's a free-2-play I spent a tenner on it - don't feel so bad when it's free. I finally can use my jet pack suit thingyme in the open world which is a massive plus.
