110440 I was actually excited about James' win for the Man Booker prize. I've read two of his books and really liked them. I hadn't read any of the other nominees' books though, might give them a try later.

That sounds like a good book, Evelyn! I spend a lot of time with my friend's 5 year old and she asks the most wonderful questions; I definitely learn a lot from her questions.

So far I'm finding it impactful and I had to stop reading it last night because it hit close to home. I can't say whether it's helpful to a child as yet, although I would say from personal experience black children are not allowed to be children but are seen as adults from a young age, so this honest talk about race is needed asap. We shall see how it goes.

Great review, Chrissie! I placed a hold at my library and I'm looking forward to reading it. It looks like a popular book so it might be a few months until I get it.
