Hi Maggie,
Thanks for starting this thread. I also enjoyed Jackie Collins books. She definitely wrote some great independent women, Lucky Santangelo being my favourite. May she rest in peace.

I'm reading two non-fiction books at the moment:
A Woman Speaks: The Lectures, Seminars and Interviews of Anaïs Nin and
In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens: Womanist Prose. Nin and Walker are two of my favourite feminist writers so I decided to treat myself with their words during my birthday month. So far so good:)

Just finished reading
Tomb of Tutankhamen. Fascinating read if you like archaeology and Egyptology. I love both and learned so much!
Nancy wrote: "I just finish best non-fiction book. Dark Confessions of an Extraordinary, Ordinary Woman was inspiring, entertaining, and easy to understand. I'm still learning English."That looks good, Nancy. Glad you enjoyed it:)

I've had a few upsetting encounters with dehumanizing language used towards non-Europeans in literature. Too bad about Blixen because she really is a lovely writer.

Hi everyone, we now have 6 nominees for our next non-fiction group read. Thanks everyone for nominating! We'll be setting up a poll shortly.

Looks like we have 5 nominations that have been seconded so far. One more is needed and then we'll set up the poll. Thanks, everyone.
