Thanks for starting this thread. I also enjoyed Jackie Collins books. She definitely wrote some great independent women, Lucky Santangelo being my favourite. May she rest in peace.

110440 I'm reading two non-fiction books at the moment: A Woman Speaks: The Lectures, Seminars and Interviews of Anaïs Nin and In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens: Womanist Prose. Nin and Walker are two of my favourite feminist writers so I decided to treat myself with their words during my birthday month. So far so good:)

I'm hesitant to read books about Africa written by non-Africans for that reason. I've had a few upsetting encounters with dehumanizing language used towards non-Europeans in literature. Too bad about Blixen because she really is a lovely writer.
