110415 Sounds good Lee - I like the smell of cigars but have never tried one!

110415 I'm still quite early on Hilary (everyone still alive-just scene setting), I really like his writing.

110415 The only thing I like about Cliff Richard is as inspiration for that final 'Young Ones' episode....'Look out! Cliff!' Ha ha ha!

110415 OK so am putting the Du Maurier/Bronte obsession to one side for now and reading: In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and Graham Greene's The Quiet American.

110415 Interesting... and very probably true. I think a lot of writers would have liked to be more open and honest about these things - and let's face it, sex sells! Agree about Bram Stoker Lee, he would definitely have included more in Dracula if he thought he could get away with it!

110415 I finally managed to get hold of a copy of Mason & Dixon!!! So will hopefully be starting soon :)

110415 I've got that one on my wishlist, looks good. I was surprised at the degree she was portrayed as being haunted (Rebecca seemed to have had a huge effect on her in the novel) - I am planning on reading a biography of her and probably her own autobiography soon as was very interested. (just have to make sure I don't get obsessed now!)

110415 Yeah, I can't put it down!

110415 Now I'm finished 'Daphne' which was really good, it's got , wanting to read more about her and also about the Bronte's. So seeing as I haven't got any biographies, I'm re-reading 'Jane Eyre' which I haven't read since I was in my teens - actually like it better 2nd time round!

110415 I know - they get so worked up! It's only a list...

110415 Finished Daphne by Justine Picardie - really enjoyed it! Making me want to read more about her life too and also about the Bronte's!

110415 Very interesting - am enjoying reading all the snarky comments underneath as much as the article! Haven't read Pilgrim's Progress so can't really agree or not with it's placing 1st on the list but it's certainly been very influential.

110415 Am done with The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle which was really good. Now I'm reading Daphne by Justine Picardie which I am really enjoying so far and also The Secret Rooms: A True Gothic Mystery by Catherine Bailey.
