110415 Yay Mr Pepys is back to normal (I was getting a bit worried)

110415 Sounds surreal - did being tipsy help?

110415 I'm still waiting on my copy arriving but it doesn't look to be too long so hopefully won't be very far behind.

110415 I don't know but he is very like the picture of Mr Pickwick that I had in my head...

110415 Well we will get through them all eventually! I thought this instalment's thing would be a bit too slow but I kind if like how it means we can read them together without it being a massive time commitment. Plus as it's only small doses then hopefully no-one will fall behind or get fed up!

110415 Let us know how you like it Dee - it's on my tbr list!

110415 Oh no, sounds dismal! Looking forward to that one then :S

I've only ever read Great Expectations, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and A Christmas Carol(and Oliver as an abridged version when I was about 10 but I'm not convinced that counts) so for the others I'm pretty much in the dark. I have deliberately avoided all the adaptations etc on the TV for the ones I haven't read as well so it doesn't spoil the story for me!

110415 Maybe it might just be best for season's? We can have our spooky autumn read, a Christmassy one, then something lighter for spring and summer theme's??

110415 Cool - I think it's just interesting to watch his development as a writer by reading the books this way.

110415 Well I would be up for it, sounds good - I can always squeeze in another book!

110415 This month's instalment was just as daft as the last (view spoiler) Quite amusing but I'm more interested to see how this progresses and at what point Dickens decide to turn this into a story rather than a collection of funny scenes or if that's how The Pickwick Papers carries on. (I haven't read it or seen any adaptations so I genuinely know nothing about this book other than what I read in the introduction to my copy)

110415 I'm about halfway through Teller of Tales: The Life of Arthur Conan Doyle and am also reading The Calligrapher's Daughter which are both really good.

110415 This is very true.
110415 Thanks guys, I've got an interview with another agency to get registered with as well, have done supply work before a few years ago but the agency I used to be with has gone out of business which is a shame cos they used to get me loads of work. I also have a couple of other jobs I'm applying for as the thing that I remember from the last time I did this type of work - no pay during the school holidays :(

110415 I would say maybe he is changing his ways... but I'm sure he will be back to his usual self soon enough!
110415 Aww I like a nice sonnet!

110415 Lee - where do you and your family sleep? There can't be any room left! :)
Sep 08, 2013 02:25AM

110415 I know, the only thing I like better than a gothic mystery is a TRUE gothic mystery!

I'm the same with the list's - I will make one and then read everything else but what's on the list :S

110415 The thesaurus one is good - will have to remember that!

110415 A bit quiet for Mr Pepys isn't it?
