That is cool - I'm installing it now!

I can't find it I'm afraid (Amazon's team of digital flying monkeys has probably removed all trace of it) but if I come across it accidentally again will post it straightaway!

Brilliant idea! Was just thinking the other day that the discworld might be due for a re-read!

That sounds good - I've wanted to read that one for a while.
My 2nd nomination is ETA Hoffman's
The Nutcracker, I saw the ballet earlier this year and it was amazing!

I'm reading
The Bloody Red Baron to give my brain a rest before I start (finally)
Mason and Dixon!

Ok so that's another 5 crossed off the list - down to 97! But probably not for long

I'm glad it was saved Maureen! I don't know what I'd do without the library - I have been going regularly ever since I was old enough to have a library card. Luckily they are not shutting the ones I use down - just changing the opening hours slightly.

Those vintage penguins look so cool - I have got no space (or money) so am trying not to succumb to collector's mania and buy more books! But it's not easy
Lee wrote: "I love Dave Hairy Biker!!!!!!!!"Is he still in Strictly Lee? - I have a really low tolerance for the tv so haven't been watching it but I do love the Hairy Bikers!
Ellie wrote: "And the award for Most Groan-Inducing Book Title of the Year goes to:
*drum-roll*
Tequila Mockingbird: A literary guide to cocktails"Ellie - are these things you're finding at the literature festival? I love cocktails so I'm going to HAVE to find a copy of this!!!

Mmm you're all making me hungry now - I have got some venison stashed I the freezer....

this is going on my Christmas list!
Lee wrote: "I was just thinking that it would be great if we could form our own intergroup lending library - if only there was a way to lend kindle books."There is a new app (or something) coming out I think which will enable sharing of ebooks between members - I can't remember where I read about it but if I find it again I will post the link.
Hilary wrote: "@Laurel. I'm down in Sunderland most weekends, I don't know where you are in Durham but I'd be happy to meet up somewhere to lend my copy to you if you're within travelling distance."Aww thank you for your kind offer Hilary - I did actually put a request in for it when I realised someone else had got there before me so it should be coming soon, although if it doesn't I will certainly be in touch - thanks :)

There a few horrible bits but mostly just the bodies/autopsy scenes that you get in all crime drama's. The subject matter is pretty grisly but a lot of it is tension and atmosphere cleverly done so that you know this stuff is happening but you don't explicitly see it a lot of the time - does that make sense?

Awesome, I'd much prefer David Jason to Bridget Jones anyday!

I know! Would buy a copy but I haven't been paid yet

Oh man - where is this year going??????
Grumbles about time flying over aside, I would like to nominate
Lost Christmas by David Logan - I watched the adaptation on the telly either last year or the year before (it had Eddie Izzard in it) and it was lovely so fancy reading the book!
Also am seconding A Christmas Carol!!!

Went to the library to get it but someone got there first :(
So will catch up as soon as I can!
Lee wrote: "I must watch this series - ITVPlayer here I come."@ Lee - just a heads up, this is actually the fourth series of Whitechapel so far although it's fairly self-contained so you should be able to watch it without missing too much. But the older episodes are also very good - the first series about the copycat Jack the Ripper was awesome!
