I thought it was just normal fog - I must have missed the news all week lol!@Lee - both my horses fell over but they're ok ;)
ha ha, yeah but I got 11 books for £10.89 so it's a bargain really ;)Is anyone putting a bet on the national???
I'm sticking a quid on Shakalakaboomboom and another quid on Big Shu - it's the only time I ever bet on the horses.
Midway along the journey of our lifeI woke to find myself in a dark wood,
for I had wandered off from the straight path.
How hard it is to tell what it was like,
this wood of wilderness, savage and stubborn
(the thought of it brings back all my old fears),
a bitter place! Death could scarce be bitterer.
But if I would show the good that came of it
I must talk about things other than the good.

For anyone interested, here are some of Robert's poems from her website: http://www.micheleroberts.co.uk/poems...And this interview with her is a good introduction about her inspiration/influences and the themes of her work: http://www.cercles.com/interviews/rob...
@Gab - don't see why you shouldn't call your character that as long as your story and character are nothing like the Uriah from Divergent. As to whether he should be your main character's brother, friend or lover - I suppose that depends on where you want your story to go so I have no idea - good luck!
Hope you're feeling better soon Ellie - take care!@ Hilary - that's really strange but I think it's kind of cool to have such a literate ghost!
Yeah my english teacher said it was supposed to be that - showing how convincing the devil could be and all that jazz but.... I just thought he was a great character!
I've got a copy of Paradise Lost coming with my copy of Inferno so am looking forward to finally finishing it - we only studied Books I and II when I did my English Lit a-level so I'd like to read the whole thing.
He doesn't seem to have a clue how to handle people does he? The whole mess with Burdovsky could have been dealt with a lot better if he had thought about it but I don't think it's just him - all those young men were pretty hysterical and Lizabetha Prokofievna is definitely a few sandwiches short of a picnic. And I've no idea what Nastasia Philipovna's game is...There doesn't seem to be one 'normal' person between the lot of them.
Nicely written but not very spooky and to be honest a bit dull - not much mystery really and too much description of stuff so it was a bit of a let down cos it sounded good from the blurb.
Sounds interesting - the lost hour really threw me as well earlier! Having some serious arguments with the alarm clock before I realised what was going on...
It's pretty miserable today as well but I think it's going to change again soon! Have got a (very)rare sunday off work so have made a batch of spiced rhubarb and apple jam to celebrate :)
