Book: The Midnight Line by Lee Child
Another wild, twisted ride with Jack Reacher. My review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show......"
I watched the series Cecil and loved the character portrayal of Reacher. It made me want to read the book - and I'm usually a one or the other type of person.
Challenge CompleteKey Word; When
Book: When She Was Good by Michael Robotham.
My comments: Reading about child sexual abuse is really hard, and the author brought out all the feels. It was uncomfortable, sad, angry - everything. So good book overall.
Challenge Complete!I read An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard (for the Book Award challenge) - but the author is female so it qualifies for this challenge too :0) Bonus that it's a new to me author, and since I loved this book I'm sure I'll be reading more from her in the future.
CHALLENGE COMPLETEI read An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard which won a 2018 Alex Award (announced Feb 12) - loved it. It shows a different perspective on magic and how it works - and its pretty fast paced and intense.

Loved it! I read the first book in the series too (but each stands alone). I will say the books are really disturbing though - I could never read them back to back!
Challenge Complete!Word: Girl
Title: Where the Drowned Girls Go by Seanan McGuire
This is the 7th and latest book in the Wayward Children series. It's not my favorite book of the series, but I really enjoyed it. I think the Worlds the author comes up with are so imaginative - and although this book took place (mostly) in the "human" World, I enjoyed the glimpses into where the children had been.

I read Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi - winner of a 2021 Alex Award. I can't say I liked this - parts of it were interested, but it was so disjointed and the ending was meh.
