Challenge complete! Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson.Keyword: Train
Really enjoyed reading this one - maybe more than the 1st book in the series.
Challenge complete" The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw. This book features a mermaid ... but perhaps not the cutesy kind you're thinking of ... or do you already know mermaids are dangerous creatures?!
Challenge complete! I read That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming. This is solidly fantasy romance with a big dose of humor. This was a fun read,
Challenge complete with Murder Road by Simone St. James (Keyword: Road).Love, love, love this book! At this point, St. James is an auto-buy author for me.
This months key words are:Twice, World, Man, Quiet, Sweet, Hold, Shallow, Invisible

Challenge Complete! I read Maeve Fly by C.J. Leede. This is a "body horror" novel. Quite interesting and definitely unforgettable.
Challenge complete" The Twice-Drowned Saint by C.S.E. Cooney. Loved this novella with it's wildly imaginative World building.

I read this one recently too - I enjoyed it, but the characters were so 1-dimensional!
I read The Beast You Are: Stories by Paul Tremblay. Key Word: YouI liked 5 of the 15 stories - did not like the first 10!
Challenge complete: The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo. It's fitting that this book was released this month and worked perfectly for the challenge! Loved it also and that ending left me thinking about it days later.
I read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard which features 2 different class of people - the Silver, the ruling elite with magical abilities, and the Reds, the more subservient class. That is, until they discovered Mare Barrow - who showed some magical ability when there was an accident at court. Cue the political gameplaying. It was an interesting read but not sure it's interesting enough to continue the series.
It took me a while but finally finished Saint Death's Daughter by C.S.E. Cooney which won the 2023 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel.

Oh, I loved this so much! I had fairly high expectations going into it, since the premise seeme..."
@Jennifer - this book is one I'll never forget! True depravity and the way the author describes everything makes it all seem so real!
Hi All! I loved reading everyone's introductions and I sent friend requests to you all - I love having more bookish freinds! I'm Tanya Patrice, co-founder of this group with Kimberly. My favorite books are genre fiction - horror, psychological thrillers, mysteries, sometimes historical fiction, sometimes romance and a little bit of contemporary fiction thrown in. I mostly listen to audiobooks as I travel a lot for work. Most of the books I get from my library app (Cloud Library), but I am building a small library with my absolute favorite books.
Planning books to read for me is just as much fun as reading them!
I read The September House by Carissa Orlando Key Word: House. I got into it more and more as the book went on - didn't start out loving it though. I kept thinking - why would anyone stay in a haunted house?! But the last third threw me!
