GMA Book Club (2022) - Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.Loved this and it's definitely worth the hype if you like quirky characters, and complex relationships.
Challenge complete!Key Word: Silence
Book: Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes.
Really enjoyed this creepy space horror. This is not really a sub-genre I read a lot of, so I was pleasantly surprised. Nice way to get the reading year started.
(I originally put this in the wrong thread).
Better late than never! Challenge complete.Key Word: Hotel
Book: The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami
It was hard to read for me because this is a dystopian novel that feels like it could easily be true in the very near future.
Key Word: GuestThe Guest by Emma Cline.
5 stars
As people say, you see the train wreck and you can't look away. That's what the main character's life is like. She's a grifter, on her times, and she's trying desperately to find a way out, but she's also delusional and not one to dwell on how bad things are.

Challenge Complete!I read Golden Child by Claire Adam (also read for The Key Word challenge). I didn't know much about the book going in - but wow - it was definitely emotional! I had a moment where I had to set the book aside for a while before I could continue.
Jerikay wrote: "This is my second time joining the challenges. I'm in Ohio. and an avid reader, although I only manage about 50 books a year. I read just about anything, particularly enjoy Historical Fiction, Wome..."Hi Jerikay - I read about the same amount of books per year too.

A Serial Killer's Guide to Marriage by Asia Mackay
Quite an entertaining read.
Challenge Complete!Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan. This was published in 2021, but is set in 1985. It's a book about living a hard life, and even then, how some people have it harder. It's also set in Ireland, and touches a bit on the Magdalena Laundries.
