1) terribly
2) no :(

My question is kind of lame but I'd like to know if any of the characters you write about are inspired by people you meet IRL? And do you keep a chart of people..."
I have a huge calendar. SOS events are written in it. I laid a piece of tracing paper over it for Theresa's events. So all the days make sense.
For the years stretches, I have an excel spreadsheet.
None of this means I haven't failed at something, somewhere. But I am trying. (Tony keeps me honest)
And no, the characters aren't based on anyone I know IRL

my biggest question is (quite surprisingly) why include the TP on Theresa's shoe in the opening scene? She's not known for being a clutz, so why make her seem like one in front of Antoni..."
OK, I know PJ. I've read her reviews, and she's as sharp as a fucking tack. Tell her I said so.
Theresa was in the bathroom ruminating on her failings as a woman, comparing them to the skimpy amount of TP left on the roll. Those failings followed her out. That's how it works on a metaphoric level.
On a practical level, she's coming apart at the seams. Her veneer is failing even before she meets Antonio. I like to open books with characters already in the process of falling apart.

It is incredibly difficult to read other books. There are some great books on my kindle that I haven't been able to finish because they've distracted me from the story I was writing or conceiving.
I try though. At least I try to read a few chapters of everything that's hot at any given moment to keep up with my peers.

AND, I gotta know, how, and why Invictus?!?! <3 that part!!
1) We had an aunt who lived there and we visited yearly. I. Love. It.
It's New York, but a manageable size. Wonderful place. Truly. I really like Canada in general.
2) Invictus.
I was going to do IF by Rudyard Kipling. THAT was what I had to recite in sixth grade. But it was too long for the scene.

I don't think I'll be going that deep into their childhoods. Maybe in an aside flashback thing? Not a bad idea for sometime....

OMG right. Was that erotic? Because I think that was about the time I found my dad's mags, so I was like...whatever. LOL

Possibly, in Coda, which is becoming a behemoth of a book. Or not.
I may make it a short, romantic jaunt which will include the wedding, or it'll be a monstrosity that ties up all the stories. Not sure yet.

what is Jonathan referring to, at end of Submit, when he tells Jessica "Don't you dare....if you do anything li..."
Jessica threatened to tell Monica about Rachel.

It's not really an organized process. I wish I had a method. I just start typing. It takes a lot of work, because then, 3/4 in I'll realize....she knows how to shoot? OMG I said already she dated a detective. OMG I bet when he had his gun around it wasn't loaded and...OMG OMG
And then I go back and sand it down and wind up with Theresa.

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty
And....I found my dad's stash of hardcore porn when I was like 12.
That was, shall we say, formative.

I'm shaking the tree on her still.
But just to clarify Jessica's role, she ended Rachel's life so that Jonathan could be tried for murder. And why? Because then the trust would revert to her. Which in her mind, would solve two problems. She'd have enough money to do her work, she'd get back at his family, and Monica wouldn't have him.
She's actually a complex web of motivations, that Jessica. I think any number of outcomes would have worked for her, personally, except the way things were shaking out. She lost her shit.

Nice graphic Diana!
I'm not that great with pix everyone, and my html is...well, pretty shitty. So bear with me.

I can't wait to see you all on Sunday for the QA right here.
I won't answer any personal questions, but I have plenty of fodder with regard to the Drazens. If you'd like clarifications of plot points, character motivations, scenes (WTF happened???) kinds of things, ask away!
A Goddess reserves the right to change her mind at any time, but if you have questions about future books, series, characters or ANYTHING just ask.
I can't wait to see you all!CDR

Kristi - send Diana some questions. The threads will be here eternally and you can just check back!

The most amazing thing I think is that you exploded not when you mom hurt YOU but when she started hurting HERSELF....and as a writer, those moments when people explode, and what motivates the explosion....those are most human when they defy our expectations.
