This year there is a twist- the royal twins will be having their own Selection at the same time, so 35 girls and 35 boys will be chosen to participate. Letopiseț cu două regine este un roman istoric atipic scris în întregime ca o conversație între trei femei imigrante — cele două regine și cronicarul lor, un alter ego al autoarei, o scriitoare americana de origine romana. Romanul este un dialog între trecut și prezent, invitând cititorii vorbitori de limbă engleză si română să regândească prezentul în raport cu faptele din trecut. Vorbind de dincolo de mormânt într-un stil deliberat modern și ireverent, cele două regine reflectă asupra evenimentelor contemporane (atât din epoca lor, cât și din timpul nostru), politică, alți membri ai familiei regale, dragoste, artă, frumusețe și viață în general. Ambele femei sunt artiste și scriitoare sofisticate: Regina Maria are un gust desăvârșit în designul interior, este o pictoriță magistrală a florilor, iar stilul ei în proză a fost lăudat de nimeni alta decât Virginia Woolf. Regina Elisabeta, care a realizat obiecte de artă religioase brodate, este o poetă și traducătoare remarcabilă, care scrie sub pseudonimul Carmen Sylva, vorbește fluent mai multe limbi, inclusiv germană, franceză, română, italiană și suedeză. Cele două regine împărtășesc ceva cu cronicarul lor – sunt scriitoare imigrante. Deși acesta este un roman literar, aproape toate evenimentele descrise sunt reale.
