Where is Ceylon?
I love summer reading! Nothing like chilling out with a book (or several) by the pool all through June, July, and August!
Sandra wrote: "Yep, nearly winter here in Aus, but I'm still in tshirts, cause this is the hottest autumn we've ever had in Sydney, according to the records. It's 24 here today :)"You're lucky! Here in France, summer's coming, but it's barely 16 ;)

its spring here in the US, soon to be summer cant wait. I cant vacation much because I have finals >:(
On a more constructive note, I don't know if there's a way to cater each event to the countries the readers belong. This is really ambicious but it would be greatly apreciated. Or maybe get a more worldly event, like when the olimpics, world cups happen or nobel prizes happen. NONETHELESS (I hope I used the word correctly) I hope all the northeners have a wonderfull and book filled summer. Enjoy your reads!

How is chile like? Does it have high crime rate like its noisy neighbours or is it pretty chilled?

Here in Arizona, it's always summer! :P I read whatever I think sounds interesting or whatever my friend recommends me to read!

Pretty Chillán. We have our problems like every country, but I'm general pretty safe and calm.

The weater is horrible in Perú now (It's winter here) But we can imagine that we have a radiant sun :v
Well, I'd say we're heading into summer but the temperature still hasn't steadied out enough to call it that yet. We mostly have mid 60's right now and even 50's. Every few days we hit mid 70's but then we get rain. West NY weather needs to make up its mind. I just hope we aren't going to have to wear jackets on the 4th of July again. LOL
I've never really gotten on the whole "read lighthearted/fun books to go with the cheerful summer weather!!1!" bandwagon, because where I live it's so hot that a good portion of our year is summer-hot to other people. So, because of that I don't associate actual summer with "carefree fun in the sun time" so much as "struggle to survive and hide indoors time"....
I mean, this is only May and it was 109`F yesterday! :(

As the "Summer reading list" is sponsored by Audible they clearly dont have a market presence here south of the line!!
It's spring in the Texas Hill Country 96 degrees, but I'm not there I'm in Western Michigan and it's 60 degrees. Good summer reading at home in Texas. And winter reading here.

It's always nice reading about other countries and the weather there, but I don't seem to find any comments on the whole summer feeling. Sure, warmth might be important, but I think the freedom and good vibes represent summer in a way the temperature should not.

Hot spring in Madrid (Spain) where the weather keeps on being faithful to one of our mottos: Nine months of winter, three months of Hell.
Winters are so long and dreary here in the Northern Hemisphere that we need to celebrate our short summers and what better way than with Summer Reading!!!
