Yup, as another Sydneysider, can't complaint too much I guess, especially when I think of winter of -20 where I'm from...

Library Nymph I love summer reading! Nothing like chilling out with a book (or several) by the pool all through June, July, and August!

You're lucky! Here in France, summer's coming, but it's barely 16 ;)

message 106: by Harley (new)

Harley Haha... Australia actually isn't as hot as everyone thinks! It is freezing in the winter.

Nataly Lake Arelis wrote: "It's winter in Chile." I second this

message 110: by Nataly Lake (new)

Nataly Lake On a more constructive note, I don't know if there's a way to cater each event to the countries the readers belong. This is really ambicious but it would be greatly apreciated. Or maybe get a more worldly event, like when the olimpics, world cups happen or nobel prizes happen.

NONETHELESS (I hope I used the word correctly) I hope all the northeners have a wonderfull and book filled summer. Enjoy your reads!

Luis Irigoyen The weater is horrible in Perú now (It's winter here)
But we can imagine that we have a radiant sun :v

message 122: by Brittney (new)

Brittney Well, I'd say we're heading into summer but the temperature still hasn't steadied out enough to call it that yet. We mostly have mid 60's right now and even 50's. Every few days we hit mid 70's but then we get rain. West NY weather needs to make up its mind. I just hope we aren't going to have to wear jackets on the 4th of July again. LOL

message 123: by Ariadne (last edited May 24, 2017 02:14PM) (new)

Ariadne I've never really gotten on the whole "read lighthearted/fun books to go with the cheerful summer weather!!1!" bandwagon, because where I live it's so hot that a good portion of our year is summer-hot to other people.
So, because of that I don't associate actual summer with "carefree fun in the sun time" so much as "struggle to survive and hide indoors time"....
I mean, this is only May and it was 109`F yesterday! :(

No vacation for us here in Australia, we're still in the middle of school!!!

message 135: by Beatrix (new)

Beatrix It's always nice reading about other countries and the weather there, but I don't seem to find any comments on the whole summer feeling. Sure, warmth might be important, but I think the freedom and good vibes represent summer in a way the temperature should not.

It's coming into winter here, but I agree with the whole "stay inside or you will die in the heat" thing! Same in the summer!
