This timing is just too good to be true. We are having our first really sunny week here in Belgium (Europe, in the Northern hemisphere) so summer is finally underway. And I was looking for some summer reads, so as I said perfect timing :)
Yeah, we get it's not summer for everyone. Can't we just enjoy a resource to find great books instead of being nitpicky about it?

Sometimes Lapland has been the warmest place in all of Europe with 30 degrees, so... And the last time it happenes was around this time, at the end of May. Also because the Sun doesn't set (or hardly sets), it shines over 20 hours a day.

Hello from Indonesia 🙋
Vee wrote: "What's the difference between reading in the Summer and reading in the Spring, Fall and Winter?"The difference is whether or not you can read outside and soak up the sun.
Ah...Mumbai summers. I'm going to die of heat one day. There was rain some weeks back. It cooled the temperature for two days and then it again returned to hot and humid.
Enrique wrote: "In Bogota, Colombia we are in summer, winter, spring and fall all the time :V"The same happens here in Curitiba/Brasil. And sometimes we have the 4 seasons on the same day !!! I was for 4 days in Bogota in 2014 and it felt like home !!!
Lilitu wrote: The difference is whether or not you can read outside and soak up the sun."Ok, sounds like something you can enjoy in the Spring and Fall, especially if you live on beachfront property. I'm not so lucky at this moment. Life goals.
C. wrote: "It's always summer in Honduras lol."Ah How I miss Honduras but same here in Miami summer is all we know lol.
Rainy season is on in Costa Rica (either way mornings are sunny and the temperature is warm)There's no excuse so join (:
Great blog post! Although, I didn't see Don Winslow's The Force included. I can't wait for that to come out in June. :D
I like the rain of summer but not the sun of summer in Florida, where we don't get many seasonsBut I like the fun of "summer themed" reading because libraries come out with reading themes, people make new read-a-thons and challenges for the summer months, and it's just a fun time all around with some breaks
Plus less traffic on the road for us workers since we are not battling with cars filled with parents taking their wee ones to school
Sandra wrote: "Yep, nearly winter here in Aus, but I'm still in tshirts, cause this is the hottest autumn we've ever had in Sydney, according to the records. It's 24 here today :)"My nephew was just there last month. He also went to New Zealand and brought me back here to Florida USA the best tea - Ti Ora Breakfast tea with Manuka Leaf. I drank my 1st cuppa while reading Jerome K. Jerome's "Three Men In a Boat." That's a laugh out loud hysterical old story. And the tea made it better.

It's not sunny right now in the Panhandle of Florida but I think the storm will pass soon. I started a new book series (about to read book 2) so I'm not complaining. It's Lilian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who..." series where a journalist solves mysteries with his siamese cats. It's a delightful series.
Almost never cold in Hawaii, but that won't matter for much long. I think Playa De Carmen, Mexico is hot in the Summer though.
Arelis wrote: "It's winter in Chile."it's fake spring here in algeria . but still reading like a summer days

i wish there was a plan you could make for what books you plan to read over the summer. one like the year long book goal, but with titles of books as well.

It's the best hemisphere, summer is from December ;) Winter reading week for us southeners.

Dulce, is the craziest thing to think of cold weather during Christmas. That's the end of the school year, end of the year parties, Christmas, summer hollidays and going out. :D Expats take some time getting used to it, but once you experience it, you forget about white Christmas :D
Could you have a winter reading list for us readers on the other side of the hemisphere?? nah ok bye
Dirk wrote: "We are just starting with summer, here in southern germany. On the weekend we had about 26degree outside."It's that way in Chicago as well. Maybe not that bad, but close.
Well, to get back to the topic of reading, I have a lot of INDIE books to read. I just looked at the list of unread books on my laptop Kindle app. I hope the summer is long enough to read 125 books! Mostly YA, fantasy, romance, and some paranormal. Since most are not yet listed on my Goodreads account, I'm gonna spend some time updating my BOOK list so you can browse my selections! Happy reading...

Ha! It's warmer in nearly winter in Aus than it is in nearly summer in Winnipeg, MB Canada. Only 11 degrees yesterday - but it's an improvement over the -40 of January! I'm looking forward to plus 30 this summer!
