The 68 Most Anticipated YA Novels of 2022

While we don’t have any actual science to back this up, experience suggests that the most voracious readers on Earth are YA readers. It’s actually quite startling, the number of books that pass through the young adult genre each year. How can any group of people read this much? It must be those fresh, young neural synapses. We older readers can only watch with envy. And try to keep up.
The year 2022 is shaping up to be more of the same, and in fact this year is fairly jammed with a ridiculously broad array of YA titles. Below we have collected 68 (!) of the new year’s most anticipated titles, as determined by readers’ Want to Read lists. Each of these books is slated for release in 2022, so start stretching out those synapses now.
Among the incoming goodies: Jennifer Lynn Barnes wraps up her popular series The Inheritance Games with the aptly titled concluding entry, The Final Gambit. Rom-com specialist Casey McQuiston (Red, White & Royal Blue) makes her YA debut with I Kissed Shara Wheeler. And Namina Forna is back with The Merciless Ones, book two of her West African–inspired epic fantasy series.
On the SFF tip, look for new books by genre veterans Charlie Jane Anders (Dreams Bigger Than Heartbreak), V.E. Schwab (Gallant), and T.J. Klune (Heat Wave). Other marquee authors dropping in this year include Emma Lord, Alice Oseman, Ruta Sepetys, and Sabaa Tahir.
Whew. That’s a lot of reading. Take it easy on us olds, OK?

It's similar to the when all we got were teen vampire recommendations for about two years, and then nothing but teen Dystopian series.
All I ask is for a varied selection of novels.
Edit: Just to add I don't mean LGBTQ rep, I'm talking about primary story.

I highly recommend this book - and the series (book 2 is coming out soon) to all YA readers!! Check out the Author's Page & book description.

I was thinking that same thing!

These books are based on readers marking them as "want to read", there's nothing unbalanced about it. It's not some arbitrary list someone put together just to irritate you.

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea, Only a Monster, A Forgery of Roses, A Far Wilder Magic, The Merciless Ones, Belladonna, The Red Palace
And... of course i couldn't contain myself and added like 8 more that weren't on my list xD

I’m talking in general, every list is like this the last year or two. I just want variety.

I just hope you're going to be ok

I just hope you learn how to reply to a civil comment in a non-bitchy manner.

Period. And sorry it rubs me the wrong way that having this amount of LGBTQ rep bugs them. I know it made me happy to see, because I never see it, especially in my small, conservative town. Representation isn't a genre and I think that was a really bad analogy.
